russ78
Ive read its confirmed 2017 joint venture with BMW will be 400BHP and will fit in nicely between GT-86 and Lexus LFA as a more middle of the road sportscar and also possibly a return of the MR2 as well, so some Japanese legends making a comeback great news Toyotas now heading in the right direction sadly no news of the return of starlet glanzas Yet lol probably old news but still pretty exciting I think Supra Prototype Rendering bit more information http://www.themotorreport.com.au/55433/new-toyota-supra-confirmed-mr2-on-the-cards-reporthttp://www.worldcarfans.com/112111450540/toyota-supra-successor-confirmed-for-production-will-launchhttp://wot.motortrend.com/toyota-gt86-engineer-upbeat-about-potential-supra-and-mr2-successors-291229.html#axzz2LYJtnJQZ
Josh@TunerLifestyle
i knew about this. i went on a wrapping corse and two toyota workers were there and they was saying about the comeback of the supra and the mr2 didnt say much more than that though YES TOYOTA! DO IT!
Amjad
Exciting! However the joint venture bit puts me off. It's gonna be the same situation with the GT86 platform, where they're basically the same car and in my mind it'd limit what they do with the car being imaginative or different. russ78
I know what your saying it will share with the new Z4 but heres a quote which kinda makes me a little more confident bmw wont ruin it "While the platform will be a Toyota design, BMW will work on the suspension and fine-tuning of the handling." Addymk2
Hmm... unsure how that bodes! I prefered the handling of my Altezza over my 3 series haha, good stuff though!
Beastmode panda
Jank, looks like the shitty gt86 and a 370z put together. Disslike new cars as they all look exactly the same!
daniel_g
MK4 supra was awesome, still want one. The prototype designs are always a bit 'jumped up' so hopefully it wont look to bad when its finished. Any engine, turbo news yet ? (not looked in links yet)
russ78
No sadly not just 400bhp and rumours of possible hybrid
jimjam
Would be cool if they brand the starlet back instead of the yaris lol
russ78
Yeah i thought that but i think toyotas all about bringing back there sports element back to the brand and in all fairness the standard starlet is far from sporty shame though
Addymk2
Hybrid!? That only says 1 thing to me, a lotta weight! Suppose that's how the markets going

Addymk2
Another speculation, definateley an MR2? Why would they when a Celica could sit below the GT86 in the price line up, be cheap to produce in FWD form and correct me if im wrong, the last one sold a lot more than the MR2. Same kinda thing with Toyota and Subaru though, where the engine is Subaru. Both cars are pretty tame when it comes to performance, would be a shame if the same thing happens with the Supra
