Billy SR
on a budget in time for japfest and i keep seeing either a rear set, or a front set for sale. i'm not really clued up in this area, so i was wondering if it's an advantage or disadvantage to mix coilovers, say tein's at rear and d2's on the front for example? or would there be issues with spring rates etc Edited March 11, 2013 by Billy SR
daniel_g
For a temporary fix to put the car on its hoop for a show, then go for it. If you were wanting to set the car up for track etc. then it might not be the best idea.
Billy SR
it's only an n/a which would stay that way as a daily and occasional motorway trips, so i was thinking it wasn't a too bad idea.
Beastmode panda
Don't see why there would be an issue tbh, nothing that you will be aware of for road use anyway.. Maybe for a seriously track car it would matter but not for a road car.
Socks
Wouldnt be an issue with this... Mixing left and right is a bit no no tho!
morgey
As long as the rear is or can be adjusted softer than the front, the same with spring rates.Hard on the rear will make it skitty as hell, especially if your stripped out. But other than that it should be fine
Banbury Glanza
Glad someone else asked this as I was thinking the same lol
Rob H@RCH Engineering
Wouldnt be an issue with this... Mixing left and right is a bit no no tho! 2nd This, I used to run Tein coils on the rear and stock up front and that was spot on, its no different to driving around with a boot full of bricks or a empty boot it will just change the characteristics of the drive a bit. Billy SR
thanks for the response guys, there's a set of tein rears on here which the adjuster rings don't move much, are they worth a punt for 75 quid, as it sounds like an easy enough fix, or shall i put out for now? Amjad
I'd save the hassle and just have a tidy set for peace of mind. You're keeping the car for a while I presume, get a new set with warranty etc.
