morgey
Don't want to sound silly but wtf are you on about? lolAll of us or the rally handles?I dont get the point if them lolBut basically this is a discussion of how you think the Sr should have been spec'd from factory
Flynn
I was being silly.....
rmsnoel
With the SR giving way to the glanza replica I decided to invent a SR+ and we are trying to establish a spec for it that retains the SR look but allows us to steal the glanza bits we like. Rally handles are the plastic handles on the roof, usually only one over the passenger door but if u feel under the headliner there are nuts welded in place for four because its the same chassis for lhd rhd
FreedomCore
I was thinking about this the other day. How far is too far? But with car parts
Chris Green
5e-fhe cams & exhaust manifold
LukeH
Nah Toyota got the Sr spot on! Wouldn't I've had so much fun modding it and doing the little bits that make big differences.
Turbo Goose
They should have definitely had the 98 spec interior from the late glanza. I believe SRs were only available from 98 so the facelift glanza would have come out at the same time. The interior is stuck in the 80s
Flynn
^^^ With you on that one!^^^
Billy SR
An sr+ sounds nearly as bad as a VXR+ someone made and that was dreadful. If I had another sr it would be totally standard like my old one, apart from coilovers! But an sr+ to me is an standard looking but with an fte ;)'It's only an SR' Edited March 18, 2013 by Billy SR

Starlet SR
I was thinking this when I was modding my Sr I deffo think they should of came out something like the my Sr Is speced now if not with a few more extras Full Gls interiorIncluding chrome surround for clocks 99 black leather Glanza wheel Corolla fuel flap and boot handle Cup holdersArmrest Front and rear strut brace Clear indictor lenses Clear side repeaters etc etc Here's the build ... http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/62163-luke-starlet-sr-update/Funny story this thread reminded of ... I worked in a Toyota dealership as a mechanic A few years agoSometimes we would go fairly quiet Workwise in the work shop One day we where totally dead only a few cars in And that particular day the top Toyota bosses Where over from England visiting the toyota dealerships unannounced. They arrived round at the reception , one of the service advisors snuck Out to tell us that the manager says bring all your cars in and pretend To fix them and not let on there your cars etc lol I laughed but brought the Sr in anywayPut it up on the ramp etc had a nosy and brought it back down again And opened the bonnet etc The Toyota folk made there way into the work workshop And where looking round the cars we where working on And at this time I had the just put GLS interior in the Sr and not much else done Bar that jus new Sr decals. They where looking at my car and one of them said to the other I remember These cars in the showroom great cars etc And the other fella said yea indeed great seller etc and then He noticed the interior lol said I don't remember the Sr coming withThat interior !! He had a closer look , and before I had said anything He says That really suits it they should have came like that Rest of them agreed. Ooo Yea !!!!!!! Lol
Chris Green
That interior really suits it mate. Were TRD optionals available in the U.K. or Japan only?
morgey
Haha the stock interior on Sr's is shocking, infact it is on 95% of uk model cars. I would love to meet the person who sat there and went "i know what will look good on the inside of this sports rally style starlet, some turquoise space puke mixed with a little bit of asteroids! Yes thats very sporty :)" i bet he felt well chuffed with himself at the time whilst so fucked up on crack and tripping away in an 80's inspired arcade. I mean all they needed to do was look at what else was available and go mmm actually that would suit it better....Japanese cars of the late 90's had some of the worst interiors around, I'm surprised they sold a single car
Chris Green
Lol ^^ The interior is bad overall, just the seats and door cards.
morgey
Thats what i mean, its like the fabric designers had been stuck in a bad trip since the 80's and only just come around then given a car an told to upholster them!
Billy SR
i've always thought the ep91 was stuck in the late 80's/early 90's, a design that was a bit late for it's time, hence why the yaris came in. but that's why i love it
PaulStarletSR
fish net recaros wouldve been good, if they could waste time fittin them in a fuckin hilux, they shoulda taken 5 mins putin them in SR's. hated the yaris when it came out, didnt like the fact the replaced a good car with a poofy 1. in sayin that tho, 1 slammed on its hole with decent alloys n lip kit can look very well
Amjad
LOL at Morgey's interior comments! They definitely should have had seats that came in the UK SE Sportif Corollas ('95) which were a bit like GT Seats, but nicer
Matts
LOL at Morgey's interior comments! They definitely should have had seats that came in the UK SE Sportif Corollas ('95) which were a bit like GT Seats, but nicerPictures of this interior amjad?
