Lew91
Hi all First of all if this is against the rules then please close it down I don't wish to cause any bother. I've been working for my uncles firm (wasp metal polishing) since I was 15 and it has been ever growing since. We are now looking into car and van parts, we've covered boats, bikes and filtration side and are looking to expand. The main purpose of this thread is to see if there will be any interest from a customer point of view. If we have enough people wanting parts polished we will look into becoming a trader on this forum and a few others. Link to our website, please excuse the lay out it hasn't received any maintanence or updates in a while. http://www.waspmetalpolishing.com/If any one would like to see a few more pictures of our work just say and I shall upload a few. Cheers Lewis

pick1
I think an awful lot of people would be interested at the right price mate as all of us owners would prob like summit polished in our engine bays
Lew91
I need to work on a few prices as I've already gave some one a wrong quote lol. I'll gather some bits up and get some times/prices jotted down. As with everything tho prices may vary due to quality and condition of the product.
maddox710
I.e if parts have already been prepared before they will be cheap than if parts still have paint or rust etc? I think it will go down a treat always fancied a polished compressor housing and inlet mani
Lew91
Yes if we received parts relatively paint free it would save time and money.
Liam_D
Would be interested to see what parts you could offer, like engine bay parts etc. I won't close this thread as I don't know if its allowed or not?
Lew91
Cheers buddy. As far as engine bay parts go it would consist more of cam covers and manifolds mainly. Although we can do catch cans, ally reservoirs, strut braces etc. we tend not to polish mild steel as there's not much point basically and it can contaminate other metals in out factory. Weyro
is it bad that i thought the word WASP was referring to something completely different?
bucketep91
I could be doing with getting our gmc vandura bumpers polished, how much would you charge?
Lew91
@weyro: I was expecting some one to think it was a bug swimming or something lol. Wasp was the initials of my uncle and his partner but he payed him off a few years ago. We all say it stands for We Are Shit Polishers now lol. @bucketep91: are they chromed at all or are they stainless? Post a pic or 2 when you get a minute bud
bucketep91
Im not sure mate, they used to be shiny lol http://s719.photobucket.com/user/bucketep91/media/photo-20.jpg.html'>
Lew91
I'd imagine there chromed due to it being American but have a look in the day light and if you can see what looks like a shiny film peeling off or even a slight rust bubble they'll be chromed. We don't generally touch chromed parts as the dust off it will kill you lol. It's best to take it to a chromers and let them recoat it.

Lew91
Cheers buddy It took around 3-4 hours to smooth the casting lines, polish it then mask it up to bead blast the raw bits.
