Is a race spec rocker needed to run a catch can

Recommended Posts

The ideal solution would be leaving the setup as stock but with a catch can on each breather. The PCV side pulls out the blowby gases when the engine is under vacuum and closes off as soon as it starts to boost (it is not a simple on way/check valve), then the other breather takes over, having this breather hooked up to the inlet pre turbo will help pull through the maximum gases, when back on vacuum the engine can also breath freely through the air filter.

There's been diagrams posted before showing how to achieve this with a single catch can and that's how I've hooked mine up.

The catch can is to stop the blowby filled with oil going back into the inlet so making the charge air cleaner.

Just fuck the pcv valve off and vent the engine to atmosphere. Pcv valves are only to bring emissions down and comply with new car regulations when they came out. My set up is rocker cover > catch can > floor, job done
