mech5107 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 If you suspect air leak, then get a carb cleaner spray and spray in the aeria you suspect. If rpm change (probably bog down) then that's where the leak is located. Quote
TurboTobz Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 spray some shit around areas see if the rpm changes, as above. EML on starlets are pretty unreliable Quote
PaulStarletSR Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 y the hell does the eml stay on if its comin up as no codes?? Quote
PaulStarletSR Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 U sure your lambda sensor is ok? aye its fine mate, itd give me a code for that but there was no codes at all. just flashed continuously. so a reset the ECU, started it back up again and the fuckin light was back on permanently as before. mikey4410 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Try a different ecu mate!!! Really fixed everything for me big time, even if you can borrow one of a mate or sumin. Try it. Quote
PaulStarletSR Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 ecu was in full workin order when purchased mate. plus, itd come up with a code for the ecu aswell if it was fucked Quote
gazza g Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 my old GT through engine light up with no code and it was the Lambda sensor, you can check its oscillating properly by putting a meter across two pins in the diagnostics plug but for the love of god i cannot remember which ones lol i believe its ox1 and ign- or something, looking for it flicking between 0-1v when engine is warm and revs held at 3k iirc. bucketep91 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I know how to fix it!Take the bulb oot Quote
turbo Grant Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I had a fiesta I done an engine change on once and that wouldn't run more than 5 mins. Spent ages chasing around to find what wrong. Changed the ecu and sorted it. Never trust the flash codes, my old GT the eml would never come on. Even with shit unplugged and hitting fuel cut Quote
PaulStarletSR Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 I know how to fix it!Take the bulb ootyour a dick charlie!built ma hopes up there lol I had a fiesta I done an engine change on once and that wouldn't run more than 5 mins. turbo Grant Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 You best got it sorted soon! Or you can push it to jae haha Quote
PaulStarletSR Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 You best got it sorted soon! Or you can push it to jae haha lol id rather drive it steady with the idle issue than push it lol what about just raggin its tits off down the street to clear out the cobwebs?lol Quote
mikey4410 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 i would do the ecu change for sure as above. Quote
gazza g Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 but this wouldnt cause the idle issue tho, so it cant be that. if 1 sensor hasnt been plugged into the loom, could that because it?? yeah cause it can, if its chucking too much fuel in or not enough when idling. obv on throttle it doesnt use the lambda so problem doesnt show. other than that id go with the carb cleaner around joints ext. 5T4R7ET N/A Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 did you manage to hook up the water temperature sensor? if not it will most likely be that Quote
Amjad Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I was just gonna say ECU swap to rule it out Quote
