Pobbette
Any advice? I tried to do this at the weekend, but had trouble getting the filter off. I used one of those tools but still could not get it off. Am i being really dim? It is in such a tight space that i just gave up and did the oil change for the time being. Any help will be appreciated
rinseep82
What I do when I can't get it off is go in from underneath and bang a screwdriver threw it then twist off
Chesh
bang a screwdriver threw it then twist off X2
DavidAshton
I use one of these and I have never had an issue. Wouldn't attempt an oil change without it. It also helps if you don't have air con makes it so much easier without the pump in the way.
StuDoc 72
I assume the problem is that you still have your aircon fitted? 3 bolts and the A/C pump will drop out the way and make it alot easier. You can try the screwdriver trick but its a bit messy and there are much better ways plus its big no no in the car world. Also you will prob need to change the oil again since you left on the old filter with new oil.

5T4R7ET N/A
picked up one of these from a local parts store. £5 cant go wrong. you will have to take the splash guard off and unscrew from underneath. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/215mm-Oil-Filter-Chain-Wrench-Remover-8-5-Fuel-Strap-Removal-Tool-/251274561422?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3a8121878e
