any ideas with a slight burny smell in reverse gear??

its like a light smell of burny stoney smell lol...

happens in reverse gear only..

drives spot on just a tad smell when in reverse

Is this your Ibiza yeah ? I'd check the autobox oil, colour, smell & level, infact i'd probably juat change the oil.

So can't change the fluid

Put it in neutral and push it backwards lol if It was the fluid would the forward gears not be the same?

Something burning off your exhaust? When in reverse it might just be enough to let it waft in?

Is it a new exhaust? Might have a protective coating burning off/into the metal.

Some Autoboxes have different compartments, if oil wasnt getting into where it should be or overheating in a specific place it could cause a burning smell.

You can only have the oil changed if the box has had some work done on the 7 speed as it's a lifetime oil in there, my old dsg polo gti use to stink every now and then as the wax on the bottem of the car use to burn
