My first fight UPDATED FIGHT NIGHT DONE!

Recommended Posts

My main piece of advice is focus on your breathing, it's very easy to not breath properly while getting hit in the face, and if your breathing goes out of sync, a teap to the chest will wind you and you'll be done for. But hopefully you're getting some good training. Hope it goes well. And you can't win them all, but the thrill is great no matter what the outcome

Train as hard as you can it makes it so much more fun and in turn you can concentrate on others things rather than thinking about the fact your hanging out your arse, its ok to be beat just make sure your fitter than your opponent as daft as it sounds, then you cant blame your fitness and you can easily say i was beaten as he was quicker or whatever makes working on things easier after the fight.

use the first round to sus him out and see what he plans to do method wise, play cool, go all out etc, watch for him dropping his guard at any given point and see if he repeats this throughout the fight then you know how to counter.

All that aside enjoy it mate its your first fight your not expected to win but its nice if you do, those 6 minutes will be the hardest 6 minutes of your life doesnt sound alot but it takes it out of you, dont let your ego fight for you either fight smart !

try get some videos up of the fight when you have it and the ones with experience can point out any strengths or weaknesses you may have :D Good luck

train train train !

Done Muay Thai for years, probably the most important thing I learned, that and keeping your whole body tensed at all times

That is a very good shout, I'll be doing some body conditioning to try help with getting punched and kicked

Try and improve your core, and when your not fight training try and do some plyometric fitness

So fight night was last night!

It came around so fast but was an amazing night!

I was fighting a lad who specialises in Thai boxing and has about 2 years more experience over me!

It went the full three rounds but come the third round I was absolutely fucked to say the least!

The ref was also the judge who is an ex UFC competitor so has much knowledge behind him

The fight was scored in my favour 2 rounds to 1

But in the second round I landed an illegal knee to the head of my opponent which was unfortunate timing but really didn't connect at all!

But because of this I was deducted a point so it ended in a draw!

Good result and I'm taking it as a win to be honest! I am gutted about the knee but I do think it was unfair that I was deducted a point as I only really hit his head guard and skimmed his nose and he was fine!

All in all it was a great night and there were some amazing fights!

Thank you all for your help posting on here :)
