Ollieh17
Had my tf035 on for a week now. Was playing last night with my mates in their scoob and evo. After that boost started dropping off and coming in later and later. Taken the pipes off and cant see holes. Had this before and turbo had blown. Someone tell me im missing a leak from somewhere and the best way to find it
MARC MOSS
Have you taken the pipe off the compressor wheel and spun the turbo?
MARC MOSS
And how about your actuator? Is the wastegate stuck open,?
Jamie5414
Socks mentioned a good way to find any leaks, I can't remember where he posted it though haha, maybe he will post in here Edited May 12, 2014 by Jamie5414
karl.
I thinks socks method was to hold your hand or something to block the intake of the turbo. If there is any leaks u will hear them. If the car stops then there is no leaks Edited May 12, 2014 by karl.
Liam_D
Take air filter pipe off and give the turbo a wiggle
Ollieh17
Im externally gated, wastegate seems fine as nothing is coming from the screamer. Will take the air filter off and check for leaks tonight. Cheers guys
Liam_D
You don't have the wastegate pipes the wrong way round do you?
Krissyb
How long have you had the turbo on for and how many miles has it done, who'd you get it off of. Edited May 13, 2014 by Krissyb
Ollieh17
Nope everything was fine boosting and holding 0.7. Then got laggier, now no boost at all until like 0.2bar at 5krpm
daniel_g
I was having very similar issues, turned out to be the seal around the EWG, my boost ring thing was loose. Feel the turbo for play, check intercooler pipes and joiners, check core for leaks aswell. Could whip off the decat and look for fucked oil seal. You can buy EWG blanks on ebay which you attach to the mani instead of a EWG, it will rule out a faulty EWG as it bypasses it, but you will technically be running unlimited boost whilst testing. Ollieh17
That would make sense, its a vband wastegate and did have diffculties fitting at first. May be that its come loose. When i had leaks before from the manifold the sound was different
daniel_g
Ahh yeah i've heard of v-bands working loose before, i dont really trust them. Hopefully thats the issue and its nothing serious.
