GlanzaJ Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Last week i had to changed a ct9 hybrid because it developed a really bad rattle and after taking it off it was completely f***** and now a week later my normal ct9 has started to rattle ? wtf ! ? Quote
rinseep82 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 What sort of rattle mate?? You running an adjustable actuator Quote
GlanzaJ Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 No mate , its sounds like bearing's , i hoping that I've been unlucky and 2 shagged turbo's instead of oil starvation from some where ? Quote
rinseep82 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Hmm well there's not many places to check for starvation to a turbo really return pipe from sump and from the bottom of the filter housing did you fit the turbo yourself Quote
GlanzaJ Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 That return pipe on mine has a slight kink , but i thought minimum oil comes back through that ? Quote
rinseep82 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) U don't want any kinks dude everything needs to be perfect with fluids really even if it's a small amount a kink can still restrict the flow look at a hose pipe u don't need to link it much before the water starts to slow Edited May 17, 2014 by rinseep82 Quote
GlanzaJ Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 I changed it not tonight , turbos had it anyway so after a new one now! to night ** Quote
RobSR Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 As said .. Did you prime the new one?If it's shagged two, does sound like an oil supply issue. Quote
patman Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Leave the black pipe off which goes from the sump to the turbo (just leave turbo side off) make sure spark plug leads are out or king lead, so car won't start (people do this many different ways) then turn the car over till oil comes out through the turbo, when it does, stop the car, put leads back on, and black pipe on turbo then your sorted 👍 Quote
daniel_g Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I would just add to the above to remove the EFI fuse so you dont fill the combustion chamber with fuel. Also you are cranking it until oil starts coming through the oil return line (the one you take off) Quote
Liam_D Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Definatley sounds like you've got another issue turbos usually die through a problem with the vehicles engine. If you had a kinked oil pipe than that will more than likely be your problem. Or even if you didn't prime it properly. Quote
H_D Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 remove plugs and efi fuse then crank the engine with the oil return pipe off the turbo.Once oil drips out of the turbo connect the return pipe back and install plugs and efi fuse.simples. Quote
RobSR Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 If your asking how to prime it, I'm guessing you haven't.. Which is probably your problem. Quote
