*GlanzaTurboV* Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Is there a noticeable engine sound from a forged and stock engine? Not exhaust sound like engine sound.Cheers Quote
*GlanzaTurboV* Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Do you have a sound comparison video? Quote
akyakapotter Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Some can should like there knocking from cold not all though whip sump off to be 100% Quote
Banbury Glanza Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 The knocking sound is because the pistons are slapping because they havnt warmed up Quote
rinseep82 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Depends what pistons are in tho some don't slap Quote
maddox710 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Compression ratios will make a noticable difference Exhaust?Manifolds? Some much that can make a different noise Quote
*GlanzaTurboV* Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Going to have to take the sump off to be sure, only a 10min job Atleast Quote
Gilly Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Depends what pistons are being used I.e wiesco/wossners and the clearances, i.e piston/wall gap. wiescos do make some noise on first start up but once warm are pretty silent, wossners are very quiet due to a different material used then the wiescos. ro55ifumi Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Mines quite and is running wossners, again depends on many variables, as described above + what oil is used John Quote
H_D Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Wossner will be quieter as they have more silicone content and can have tighter clearances than wiesco. Quote
AdamB Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Wossner will be quieter as they have more silicone content and can have tighter clearances than wiesco. This, Ross pistons also slap from cold. Quote
Dean_mc88 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 mine does sound different haven't a clue what pistons though just know TMD built the engine Quote
