Turbo Goose
Just fitted a td04 kit and started for first time without screamer pipe on. I have a tial 38mm ewg and i could feel the gases coming out of it. Should it be a tight seal or is a little seepage expected? Thanks, dan
Ollieh17
Should be tight. Have you got the sealing ring in?
Turbo Goose
Ill take it off and have a look
mikey4410
Should be absolutely air tight.no leaks at all.
Turbo Goose
Sorted. Basically im being a tit. By not having the screamer on there, the washer/ring bit on the bottom wasnt pushed tight to the wastegate penny. My bad but thanks guys
daniel_g
What way do you have your EWG then ? With the boost ring facing the mani or the boost ring facing the screamer ?
Turbo Goose
Facing the screamer, is that wrong lol? Always seen ewg facing upright if you know what i mean.
akyakapotter
seal ring faces the floor
Turbo Goose
Thats ok then, mine faces the floor. Fits up against the screamer
Ollieh17
Seal rings sits against the manifold and wastegate?!
Socks
That's wrong.... Seal Ring goes onto Manifold... That's where the seal is needed! Why is the wastegate 10ft away from the manifold?
iamlegend
HOLY SHIT BATMAN first time ever seen any body set it like that..... yea the screamer points to the floor not to blow the battery up hehe like this Edited July 18, 2014 by iamlegend
Ollieh17
Looks like you've attached the screamer pipe to the manifold then put the wastegate on the end? Effectly relocating it. Wastegate goes straight to manifold with sealing ring. Then screamer off that
akyakapotter
Really ? You get the gasket which goes onto manifold then where screamer exits facing the floor you get the seal ring on the bottom of the valve along with another gasket and screamer pipe or no gasket if using vband clamps.Looks to me that pipe from the mainland is just an extension so it's sat in a different place to normal. Turbo Goose
Right, ill get on it tonight. The wastegate hit the rad hose with the pipe it came with, also the welding on it was a joke. Ill see if i can mount the ewg straight to the manifold so its not as far away from the maniOld pipe

Turbo Goose
The setup is second hand. That pipe has been modified and rewelded by someone. The original welds on mani are excellent although a couple have been redone ok ish
