FMuscle
It's not really that bad, unless the car looks shit, like mine at the moment with the wrap peeling off... They actually need 3 reasons to give a Yellow. First time I got one, the guy was inventing reasons to have my Starlet inspected. He doubted my red lug nuts and pointed out that I didn't have rear seat headrests...
Ep911-20v
Haha he didn't bother checking the compliance plate that would tell him if the car was made with head rest WA cops sound just as retarded and nsw police
FMuscle
So... I was Playing Gran Turismo 5, right? I stumbled across a paint item called "Moonlight Blue" And... Well... Yup.

FMuscle
After waiting for a while to get some parts I bought from UK, I can finally make some progress. I'm getting the car ready for paint meaning removing the wrap and, now that my stuff arrived, installing my plate surround. I'm also deleting the locks on the boot and passenger door. Not sure yet how I'll feel this weekend, body or engine work?
Ep911-20v
Engine work It's how it goes not how it looks
FMuscle
Lol Yeah, but if it looks like shit the cops will pull me over for yet another yellow sticker because they think it will fall apart...My last canari inspector said to make it look clean to not attract attention, and my tuner said to make it look so boring the cops wont even think that the engine is modifed... FMuscle
Thanks for the comments.^^^ Some progress today, in 2 steps. This morning I showed up at work once again while the shop is closed... And when the salesmen left, I went back home and... As you can guess, I had to stop because of weather, but not the rain, it would have been alright under the carport if it hasn't been for the bloody wind... Let's hope it's better tomorrow. FMuscle
Some progress made this week, the head is almost ready, I only have to check valve clearances. I was to do that, but a little mistake on my spec sheet stopped me... too late. And for another preview:

FMuscle
Thanks mate!Got a bit of a problem now. I had all my parts under my bench at work, but I was moved to another bay last month. moved some stuff, left some, all ID'd. 1st of this month, a Wednesday night, I replaced the clutch of my second Starlet with the donor Paseo one. The 5E flywheel didn't fit the 4E, but clutch and PP went in. Now I'm closing in on the swap, but I cannot find the freakin' 5E flywheel anywhere!! I had it in my hands 4 weeks ago... I hope the guy that cleaned up before getting fired didn't throw it out....
Symo1995
Keep up the good work mate fair play that engine looks nice!
FMuscle
Not the same car, but... This is my other EP91. Bought it cheap, body is in bad condition, but I don't care too much about that. But it always overheated, since I bought a month ago... So I brought the car back from a mates place last Wednesday, and this happened: I got around to fix it Yesterday, I used my old Paseo rad I had lying around and decided to change the thermostat to the Paseo's as well, it wouldn't hurt... Well I found this: It's no longer overheating... I didn't find the rest of the stat, but I think it rusted out, desintegrated, and got stuck in the rad... the inside of the hoses were the same color as the stat, so is the inside of the expension tank. The Paseo rad kinda fits, lower mounts are at the same distance from each other, so are the outlets, but they're a bit offset. I had to relocate the tank to the passenger side and turn its bracket around to make it fit.
FMuscle
Ok it's been a while since I updated. Sorry 'bout that, I've been busy, changed jobs, been to Canada, etc.Now I'm back on it. I have a few done since last time, I left you with my valves and shims.I set the clearances, Installed the cams and the cambelt. Also the coolant and thermostat housing. On the car, I installed more of Jezza's goodies, bonnet lifts are up and running, I also did the front Park lights mods.I started my brakes conversion with the Paseo rear axle I had collecting dust and wasting space. Followed a few weeks later by the front end... I removed some unwanted weightBack on the engine, the inlet has been powder coated, installed with the inlet spacer, bits and pieces coming in to complete the engine, water pump, dizzy cap & rotor, leads and plugs, the rear of the engine is about done by now. I found what must be the last available 5E flywheel in WA after mine vanished... I fitted the Paseo's shifter, travel is slightly shorter, but not enough to be noticeable. Also installed a safety feature...That all folks! Stay tuned for more updates, the old engine is coming out of the car next week Edited December 18, 2014 by FMuscle

FMuscle
Yes, but not yet. I still have to save up for the Haltech and tune, and make all the brackets and piping... I will use the 4E as a template for this, as I could leave it to a welder while I bed in my stage 3 clutch...

FMuscle
I didn't make it... I was so close, but just didn't have enough time to complete the task at hand. I wanted my car running before 2015. Did not happen. I have only a few things left to do. Exhaust, rad hoses, fluids, catch cans and vacuum lines. See you next week. TurboTobz
That stats not disintegrated the bottom halfs been cut off just leaving the ring in there to act as a seal as without it it would leak. Person you bought it from has prolly cut it to try and stop it over heating... I.e. He probably gathered the stat was sticking/not opening.
FMuscle
I doubt the previous owner did anything to it... mid 20's girly girl learning to drive RHD... The tabs did look broken and corroded, not cut, and something was blocking the flow in the rad... Anyways it's now fixed and it's just a beater anyway. The good one will be back on the road shortly.
