JAE's new home is Mersea Islands 'East Mersea Camp'

The Camp is a council owned venue which caters for events all year round. It has extensive facilities for an action packed weekend and regularly hosts various scouts and cadet training and summer camping holidays as well as car and motorbike events.

The camp is located on Mersea Island which is on the coast just outside of Colchester, Essex. The Island is separated from the mainland by one access road making the location unique.

On site the main facilities include:

Remote and safe location

Grassy well kept camping ground throughout the venue with hardstanding pedestrian access routes to the main buildings

Log Cabins suitable for larger groups, families or individuals with special requirements ( not able to camp )

On site toilets and shower blocks

Large function hall and admin buildings

Large Canteen hall and professional kitchens (doubles up as an extra function room if required )

Fully stocked licensed bar and outside seating area

Hardstanding areas for foodstalls and function room overflow areas

Complete range of on site activities such as climbing walls, frames, kids areas

Public Beach on site (Pictures)

Outdoor swimming pool with lifeguards

Overall the venue promotes interaction between visitors and has a good general feel that everything is in one place and available within a short distance

I know the location will put some peolpe off but i think this will be one of the biggest and best yet

for those who are interested there is a list of attendees already started HERE and the more the merrier!!
