Flynn Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 My car haha I've been nursing a semi over this for months! My first car was a GTti, never forget your first love...... Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Done 200 trouble free miles this weekend to silverstone for trax. Had complete faith in it making there and back which is more than i ever had in the glanza. Sitting at 70mph on the motorway the turbo is itching to boost, think a ct9 is bad this was ten times worse. Pic with me mate in his evo 4 Nd evo 8 just in the pictureWas suprised by trax, depsite the endless numbers of astra vxrs and polos etc it had a lot more variety than any of the japfests. Also drifiti g and tracktime was alot better Quote
Flynn Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Love it mate I can't tell you how jealous I am lol Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Hahaha mate i can't fault the thing. Goes awesome, handles amazing even with poor tyres and some bushes that are getting on and still as good as you could expect on fuel. Went up against a r33 gtst earlier and was gapping it. People will hate me for this but wish i found one earlier! Track time soon this year Quote
mas12555 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Thats the b18 turbo one i think... Ultimate shame on anyone who engine converts these!!Cheers bud i love itThats the b18 turbo one i think... Ultimate shame on anyone who engine converts these!!Cheers bud i love itI need to dick up photos of one which was local to me! Made me sick. Was just a b16 conversion. Pigeon shit welds on everything including engine mounts which were made of crap metal. The engine wouldnt fit how it did it do he cut a U shape in the bonnet and welded to plates in to make a stupid looking vent. the thing was a death trap. Quote
JDMfreak Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 mental rare these are in Ireland seen one for sale and was sold in 10mins of been put up best of luck with it mate Quote

I know that feeling! Mate has a 660cc turbo avanzato and when he was on the standard turbo the thing was in boost almost everywhere. When we took the turbo off we found that it was the size of a coke can. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Chatter on it is nuts though, so load and long. Also no issues with boost creep or cracked wastegates! Shares the same flanges as a twin turbo bugatti!! Quote
pockrockgtti Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Look after that car. If abused and regularly thrashed to the red line, it will bite back. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 It doesn't get redlined often, but at the end of the day its not a garage queen and deserves to be driven how it was intended! Has a recent rebuild and have faith in it. Bottom end failure can happen to any car! Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Starting to found out how easy parts are to get for a starlet compared to one of these. Clutch started slipping and after some wilwoods so it can stop like it goes Quote
Calum122 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Only seen you about once in that bad boy. Two weeks ago, we were heading up Morrisons as you left on Eastern Avenue. Hope it's still going well! Quote
Ollieh17 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Think i saw you a not last sunday the one before, deiving with your bro past mcdonalds. Yup all good in the 3 cylinder world! Quote
Calum122 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Yeah there was a few of us. Me and my bro and two mates in Type R's. Ahh good man, they're sick motors! Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Just bought these, also found out golf mk2 coilovers fit on the front and corsa b fronts on the rear. So they are ordered too. Hopefully have it all on ready for retro rides and get on the hill climb! Quote
jimmymac101 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Nice buy ollie! Mini willwoods cost much? James Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) They are £320 plus the shipping from the US. This is a kit for a honda civic but is easily modified to fit the charade. Obviously there is no off the shelf kits!Pretty cheap and sure more than enough to stop such a little car as they are 4pots. Worked out only a tad more than new disks, pads, caliper rebuild and paint on the standard brakes so was a win win Edited August 6, 2015 by Ollieh17 Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Scrapped the idea with the golf and corsa b coilovers, gonna hunt down some better ones. Want them to function not just look good. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 Photo of the gtti at japfest 2, one of two there. The other having a b18 turbo engine. Also wilwood brake kit came today so got some time to sort everything out ready for retro rides. Hopefully be able to get on the hillclimb Quote
5e colin Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 how far are the holes apart ( mounting point ) ??? nice brakes dude :) Quote
Idrees Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Awesome machine, looked super clean at Japfest Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 Awesome machine, looked super clean at Japfest Cheers mate, was good to put a face to a name. Saw you on the 0-60 sprint, meant to ask how did you get on? Quote
