weeman
What are the gt3071r turbos like on a 4efte! What's the power band like are they abit to big? I already run a td05 turbo so don't mind a bit of lag Anyone got any graphs I can have a look at Specs lists for supporting mods would be good to!
Socks
Too Laggy. GTX2863R is as big as you want to be going on a 4e! IMO of course...
weeman
Really that bad? When was ya hitting full boost?
Phil
I've a brandnew MSR gt2871 if it's of interest to you weeman?Chinese but meant to be good.Phil
Socks
I was getting 1 bar before 4k on that turbo. Stock cams. Good porting. Pfc/avcr
Stu
GTX frame turbos are great! And that size is spot on Socks, just enough response and plenty of go.
Socks
GTX frame turbos are great! And that size is spot on Socks, just enough response and plenty of go. Yeh man, spools like a td04. Yet capable of 400bhp+. No brainer... £££ tho!
AdamB
GTX turbo's spool no faster than normal GT ball bearing series turbo's. Better off saving some cash and just going for a GT2860 or 67.
RobSR
You can easily hit north of 400 on a GT28 frame turbo. a GT30 is massively overkill. Ive just brought a precision for mine, depending on how i get on with it i may go for one of their 5128's in the future too see how that performs against its equivalent gt28. maddox710
You make a good saving on the precisions over the garretts by the looks of it
mark1991
I'm completely baffled the numbers now I have been looking for what feels like forever 400bhp and td04 spool?? Which turbo?
richardc9052
Gtx2863r
Phil
Small as will make the power.Smallest Garrett housing on a gtx2860 would be nicePhil
ramses
can you imagine that on a 2.2l 16v it stills laggy ??
gorganl2000
yeah...i'm in agreement with the others...usually a gt/gtx28/td05/vfxx sized turbo is more than enough for the average 4e/5e build in terms of response/drivability and overall power..within this group there are so many choices, depending on what you want those bigger turbos have shown to be for special projects...and i mean really special projects
