Nicholai Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Hello All, As sad as i am i have been looking through ebay at what is being sold for the starlets ;). I have noticed meany times that that forge pistons go for about 500 and the conrods go for about 400 hundred for the forge ones. I saw some on ebay which i have never heard of before for 200 has anyone seen these or used them before? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Conrod-for-Toyota-Starlet-Turbo-EP82-1342cc-4EFTE-89-96-Con-Rod-Bielle-SALE-RPF-/131475196230?hash=item1e9c884946:g:Kk8AAOSwg3FUmORk Quote
silverep82gt Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Have been used plenty of times mate. Similar to scat. They will be fine to use! Quote
Nicholai Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 wow they are like 250 pounds cheaper just need the bigger pistons then a forge lump sorted. Quote
TimD Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Have been used plenty of times mate. Similar to scat. They will be fine to use! By who? Quote
Nicholai Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 so these are just as good as Scat Forged Conrod that most people use with the forge pistons? Quote
silverep82gt Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 By who?I have seen them being used in a few folks builds. They are maxspeeding rods. Plenty of people have asked about them on here already if youd care to look. Im not going to go through and find exact names! Quote
Nicholai Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 must be good then if people are willing to use them. Sometimes makes me think if you find something half the price then the regular used ones are they any good. Quote
TurboTobz Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 By who?people of the internet lol.I'd spend the extra and get some pauters or something Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Aren't they the Max Speeding ones? Heard plenty folk on here that's chosen to use them and not had any issues exactly what I'll be using when I go forged. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 this has been covered loads of times on here, few people have rated them. Id run them Quote
karl. Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I have got a set for my 5e build. There is also a lot of lads from across the water using them, as far as i can tell someone was running 400bhp on a 5e with them. (Obviously using the 5e variant before some smart ass comes along) Phil. has used a few sets without fail as well. Quote

aleximport25 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 That's mighty cheap ! Has anyone used the above set ? Quote
RobSR Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Quite a few people have used those maxspeed ones from what i can see, they are in essence a copy of a SCAT but with skinny bolts like pauters. Id run SCAT's, thickest bolts, safest for big revs. You just need to notch your block. Edited December 19, 2015 by RobSR Quote

Gainzy Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 people of the internet lol.I'd spend the extra and get some pauters or somethingAlarm bells start ringing when something £250 cheaper than the real McCoy lol Quote
aleximport25 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Mmm mcoys 😂 £250 less there's got to be something that's been scrimped on? Quote
Gainzy Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Mmm mcoys £250 less there's got to be something that's been scrimped on?Steak flavour mmm I could be wrong they might run sweet no issue's things that are new and expensive do brake I just know they won't be going in my 5E ho ho ho Quote
aleximport25 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Can't beat steak but I'm quite fond of the Mexican chilli.I guess it's all down to budget and what you wanting from it I guess a low end forged build would be fine Quote
TurboTobz Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Exactly, presumably you're not going to be scrimping. A forged builds a roughly a couple of grand, so you're going to scrimp on one thing. No sense to me. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 No one has a reason not to use them other than they cost less so must be shit? Not considered the other companies charge far too much? Or that the big brands use the same rods and just have their name etched on then charge alot more because ' they must be good they are expensive'They seen common across alot of cars with good reviews haven't yet read anything bad Quote
karl. Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 They seen common across alot of cars with good reviews haven't yet read anything badI have seen posts on forums that people who have submitted bad reviews (maybe on a turbo etc) have been contacted by max speeding etc to remove the post. Quote
