EP91 4AGE engine swap discusion
Big_T-SR replied to Big_T-SR's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Anything is possible, jus depends on how far into your bank you wanna raid lol. However, the guy i spoke to on the phone about when he put a 3sgte into a starlet, said it isnt worth the hassle, and he said he isn't going to do it again lol. But he said mine should be easier as its a smaller engine and i dont have a turbo to worry about lol. The 4agze is possible, its been done, jus recieved an email from a guy from the aussie forum that i directly emailed, he's done it and has a site. http://www.freewebs.com/4agze/index.htm I was considering the supercharged version before, but i decided no -

ahh, cheers bro. I'll look into that Fensport have given me a number of a guy up north whos done this conversion, so ill speak to him aswell. No reply yet on the aussie site.. but thanks for the pointers. T -
Hey guys, i need some advice on the 4AGE blacktop 20v engine to go into my EP91. I have been told by fensport that the driveshafts of the Starlet is different to other toyotas... this means that if i were to put this engine into my EP, i would need to get some custom driveshafts. My questions are the basics like do you know of anyone that has done it before that i could ask, i've asked on the austarlet club, but no reply currently.. Open to all suggestions and advice really... T
-
I've joined the Aussie forum, but i haven't found the specific post your talking about geo. But I've decided to go for a seperate tachometer as i'm not likely to go farther than 120mph as we all here are safe considerate drivers ;D T

Yer, i've beaten some people at windy roads.. but thats about it. My brother had a rental car, 1.0l vvti Aygo, and had the edge in a drag race, his 2nd gear goes up to 65 mph... and 3rd goes to 90... strange that it doesnt cut off... o well, brand new car, new technology. If the 1.3 starlet can keep up with other cars with higher litreage then the aygo is even more impressive. (tho i do weight more than my bro ;)) T

I hope it doesnt come to england, i wanted a quiet exhaust to begin with.. but the HKS silent hi power is only silent for turbo cars lol. Tho is it rather quiet on idle once its warmed up. But neways, this is just stupid, what kind of evidence is circular tyre marks on street racing? jus like Phil said, its rediculus. T

Very nice Mikey, love those levins. My bro has got one, but it hasnt arrived in england yet, hes got it imported. I love the engines! T

Hey guys, I need to change my speedo and rev count in my toyota starlet sr. I need one that can rev up to 8000rpm and for the speedo to go higher than my 120mph. Does anyone know if any other cluster would fit into the sr? I can just unplug the rev count and get a seperate rev meter, but i'd prefere it if the dials were changed. Would the AE111 cluster fit? Also open to suggestions, thanks. T

Tell me about your experiences with coilovers!
Big_T-SR replied to Marc's topic in Lifestyle General
I've got the second gen of the D2 Coilover, must say the standard setup is way to soft for me. I've now have the preload changed to eliminate more of the bodyroll. Its also very comfy compared to a friend of mine who has tiens... unless he just set them to a harder setting... But as i always say, i cant really compare the D2s because ive only had this set of coilovers and they're better than the Gmax springs i used to have.. End of the day, your choice, your money. T -
Yer, looks good, still trying to get used to it tho T
-
Wow, it looks so tidy, good job mate. T

REALLY?!?!?! Look at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pictures... the paint looks like a gun metal kinda greyey colour... or am i jus seeing things? Wow... feel so stupid.. T -
Yer JAE was good, shame about the weather tho... could've been better but the time will come again people! T
-
Looking good man, Haha, you organising JAE 2008 already?! damn thats early... but remember to include me, and also you have to drag all the people from ireland aswell! T
-
ooo, will this be another starlet with D2s? Loving the car mate, i'd say keep the SR stickers aswell, but the thing is, you can only keep it for so long, the red on it jus starts to go pink in the sun... thats what turned me away... But the whole white theme is nice man. Keep us posted and let us know what suspensions you decide to get. T

Loving the slideshow di lo, haven't had much time to post ne comments lately since you showed me the slideshow, so here it is... But then i'd be going on for a long time man, so i'll just say that everything looks mint, but id love to see how this little beast handles with all you've done to the suspensions most. Keep it up bro! T -
Rob_bower's 242 bhp SR - Refresh and fueling upgrades.
Big_T-SR replied to rob_bower's topic in EP91 Progress Blogs
Excatly what Phil said, in the flesh the colour of the wheels and calipers work so much better than in photos and even then its nice. Like shelly said, it does look a little similar to mine but also different, its great! Not really a fan of the interior tho.. (don't kill me) but i must admit, it does look nicer than the standard seats. Keep it up mate. T
