Yer keep the pin stripe! It looks good man, It also looks smaller because people can see your tyre profile clearer now, have you got 50? T
-
i mean, will the quickshift get rid of the delay thingy? because its only the shifting distance... perhaps someone can elaborate.. T
-
Cool man, put it in and let us know what you think! Keep an eye out for the 1st to 2nd gear change, theres like a delay or catch or somthing in the starlets i hear, i've experienced it myself but let me know what you find mate. T

EP91 4AGE engine swap discusion
Big_T-SR replied to Big_T-SR's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Yer... what they said lol. I don't really know myself.. Seems like c2888 is a real talking, moving info manuel, i may need to refer to you if things go out of hand mate if you don't mind lol. Thats engine bag looks niiiiice mate, what have you done about the air feed? The engine in the starlet might not leave enough room for trumpets to be efficient and the worst thing is that there are no after market vented bonnets for the ep91.. may have to customisely slice and dice lol T -
Hey guys, sorry to keep you all waiting but here are some pics to satisfy your curiosity. The whole engine on the pallet. The throttle bodies. After i get the engine in, i think some trumpets will be next xD. 1 Driveshaft and manifold. (other driveshaft is behind the engine. Another pic of the manifold and engine. The ECU. The Tachometer i'm going to use because the SR only revs up to 6000 and the dial only goes up to a MAX of 7000. I bought this one with more revs than i need atm, because i'm tempted to replicate the engine they used in initial D that takumi changed to. That is

Thanks for all your kind comments guys. As for the engine.. i'm not all that happy with it. The condition of the engine was worse than expected really... Pics will be posted up soon as i am now back at my house, i can steal my camera over. As for some parts, i'm ordering from toyota as just standard parts, like clutch, spark plugs, etc. Things like these don't need to be changed, but if the clutch is worn, then i can change it, but if not, it can always be left till next time. Whilst other things like cam belts i might aswell change whilst the engine is out. Mostly i'm annoyed that the r

Just a small update, the engine has arrived!!! Was expecting it on wednesday.. but o well, the earlier i can start, good thing i wasn't out . The engine is now in wrapping still on a pallet in my dad's garage. My EP91 feels intimidated by my bro's AE111 levin, my dad's BMW 530i sport and BMW Mini Coopers S modified to 240 break... But it will soon change, may not be able to beat the mini but i'll give it a go lol Pictures will be up later as soon as i find my camera T

EP91 4AGE engine swap discusion
Big_T-SR replied to Big_T-SR's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
I'm afraid i can't help with that question... but if its the same as the 4age black top version being a 4age gearbox and a 5 speed... i might be able to let you know when we get to working on it as soon as it arrives. In the meantime you can try asking on the aussie site or wait for a friendly reply here. But from what i hear, the gearbox may not fit the starlet bell housing or somthing like that... i hope somone can elaborate on that or correct me if im wrong. T -
Haha, don't worry man, i'll be there. We just need to make sure others like Geo turn up lol. How are the flags and stuff looking now neways? is there a post in the general section or something? And i hope to see you all there again! T
-
Good spotting man, all i ever see is like Joz said, old grannies that can just about see past the wheel.. lol T
-
Doesnt someone have a groupbuy with these brakes..? But the progress is looking good marty man, yer, i agree with not keeping the wheels, the colours clash too much. Keep us posted mate! T
-
Wow, big yahoo fan then eh lol. So i gather that you'll be keeping the starlet for a short while then, hope you still have it by JAE next year, it's a lil early to be talking about it, but it would be nice to meet everyone in person. Everything seems be going well atm, keep it up and keep us posted mate. T
-
lol, well... he almost did from what i hear.. hows the whole banner and flag thingy going? do we have one yet? T
-
I saw a corsa with rear brake discs... but when i went to look closer he just painted the drums white... i was well shocked, they actually really did look like discs from afar. Thats jus another colour idea neways.. It's looking good, so far, keep us posted! T
-
Well, you might not have heard it at jae, because i was trying to keep it on the down low, jus incase i pulled out.. didnt want to big it up and dissapoint eveyone. No huge problems YET,because i haven't started, jus talk about the driveshafts thats all atm. Engine mounts need to fabricated, and i've jus heard many possiblities about the driveshafts, some say you can wield and reinforce the starlet and levin driveshafts together (which im probably going to go with), some say you can use the levin driveshafts but then you'd need to change the most things in the starlet to take it like gearbo

Agreed with Ry, people who ride thie bikes on the road when there a bloody bike path right next to them! I also think old people should need to retake thier tests... what age is not for me to decided, but i mainly say this because a granny crashed into me with 3 other grannies in her car with no seatbelts! She obvisouly didnt brake because there are no skid marks on the road if she slammed them on! *whew* now... breath in.... *zooop* and breath out.. *haaa* Anyone else want to vent thier anger? lol T
-
Everything looks cool man! I personally think the inside was a bit on the overkill side.. but as long as you like it, its all good. Perhaps you could have done them black instead of yellow to keep with the colour scheme but not too much in your face. But its looking good man, i admire your ability to do everything yourself. T

Is it not time to reveal the secret yet? We can't wait much longer! Tell me now! T

Wow, spring cleaning already? My respect to you sir for being able to bare with the delicate british weather! Loving the colour scheme the most. T -
Ahh, i see you've gone for the silvertop if i am not mistaken... Nice project you got there. I'm undergoing the blacktop 4age not long from now, was wondering where you got your trumpets from? I hear the 20v ones are different to the 16v ones... Are you still trying to revive your AE86 or is this the new toy? T
-
Not too long to wait now, you're about half way. Progress is looking sweet mate, keep us posted! T
-
Progress is looking good man, I've also missed out on all these updates from everyone! wheels are soo shiny! I went for the semi gloss and matt for my speedlines because then i didnt need to drain my black tyre spray to match it . Yer, green lip would be awesome! So then we'd have my red rim, Robs Orange and your green! lol, i'm sad, i know lol. Keep us updated! T
-
Wow, completely stripped... thats good progress man, keep it up! T

Nah, the conversion will be done by my mechanic. I trust his ability, but i'm doing this bit of research to help things go smoothly. Most people say to keep everything of the starlet except the driveshafts.... but the 4AGZE guy in aussi land told me he's using the standard starlet driveshafts... q(o.O)p But we won't know till we try Yer, thorpe park went well, it was nice seeing your girlfriend, she seems like a nice person, she must come out with us again! How much do u wanna give me for it? ;) So i guess now you've discovered that i'm planning a conversion, thats why i said we shall w
