Nah, top speed isn't really important, i was just wondering how much slower it would be and how much lower the revs would be so i can weight out the positives and negatives, i thought that there may be a sl;ight chance someone else has done somthing similar.. but mainly i jus wanted to make sure that it was the right way round lol, before i make the wrong choice, that the starlet gearbox is the top speed one and to try and double check the figures of the gear ratios. Something about 6 gears doesn't appeal to me for some reason... But if i wanted one, i would've bought the 6 speed engine..

Yer, my mate who ownes a type r civic ep3 bought some HIDs from HK. He came back and put them in, the power was soooo emence that it killed the signal to the stereo and the radio in the workshop. He had to drive home tho that night and he said the following day that he started to get a headache... whether its just psychological or it really did give him a headache im not sure, jus be careful. My set of HIDs are XEON. They aren't bad, but i've found out that these HIDs don't work very well with toyotas and subarus as thier electricals are different (apparently..didn't bother looking int

Another update: The choice of which gearbox has come to me. From what i found, the gear ratios are the same because they both use the c56 : 1e: 3.166 2e: 1.904 3e: 1.392 4e: 1.031 5e: 0.815 However, the final drives are different to each other.. Starlet ep91 - 3.7 Levin AE111 - 4.312 With the starlet's gearbox i believe the top speed of the car will be higher, but it will take longer to get there.. With the Levin's gearbox the top speed is reduced but i will reach my top speed alot quicker.. This also means that my revs would be higher than the starlet's if we were travelling at the

Is it something to do with the AFM? But yer i got that aswell on my Blitz induction kit. Better to keep it in mate. T

This doesn't really concern me, because the car i drive is normally driven by old grannys and it is a car they will keep. As for you turbo owners... But yer its good new, thanks for the find, it means starlets as a general will keep on being rare... well... as rare as it is now...

The only reason why MY arches sometimes scrape is because the n/a version's arch sticks in, theres like a cover or somthing that just makes it into the wheel's area. I've looked on shelly's glanza and another friend's GT and they dont seem to have this. Yours is a GT, so it shoudnt be that archbit i'm thinking of... Good luck finding the problem mate. T

Yer, around the 280-300 mark on normal driving, i HAVE however, managed to get 350 miles when driving like a granny Actually, i should say driving slowly, because ive seen some grannys drive like rally drivers But when driving more sportly its around 220.. I tried to counter this problem by making my preload harder/shorter, this makes the spring's coils closer together so it has less room to bounce with (this also makes the car a slightly harder ride, but it stops the whole boaty feeling, I had mine changed by 7mm so far, perhaps i'll experiment with it some more later). This has decreased body roll and increased handling and my car is still low, need to raise it because speed humps and stuff are scratching the bottom of my car I recon its to do with the shocks, because shelly's D2s are the older versions and they seem to be hard enough to no

Nah, i've asked them but they said they can't get another cover... but i've also ordered one new from toyota. At least its guaranteed quality. But what do you expect from a second hand engine really... it couldve been the strap that dented it but only with something quite forceful, but then the rocker cover is scratched... so it was probably the previous owner... O well, jus make sure you see the goods before you buy it lol. Just waiting on my mechanic to come pic it up and begin the operation xD No car for about a month or so tho... T
