Do you all do it by mileage or year on the v?

    Belt

Yeah I think mileage is better really cause I've seen a guy who had his belt replaced at like 80k then didn't use the car for 4 years then had belt replaced again I was like :/

Hey all got a new car and before I start I may just get it replaced but anyway my car had a cambelt ( 2.0 Vw in 2005 @ 90k but now has only done 126k I've read that they need to be done every 4 years or 80k just thinking whether the years really make a different, I mean I know they stretch but do all of you go by years??
  4. Works for me Mine is doing that. I'm 99% positive my rings are nakered...

  6. Hey just wondering what bodgy, dodgy stuff you've found on your car when you have bought it I've had cars with the fans on wrong way round, thermostats in deliberately wrong so It cooks your engine, sealant in instrument cluster to make you not see there's eml and air bag lights on.. Share what you've seen
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the black plug an O2 sensor one in the first pic? I could be wrong!!
  8. Mine ain't on a glanza but I didnt have my crankcase breather connected and was just venting to air and never had a issue.. Just the crankcase needs a vacumm to draw out excess gas that's the only downside to it..
  9. Would a open breather cause a whine when driving? Then disappear after hitting 2k ? Do vac leaks do that??
  10. I'm a support worker and was an apprentice mechanic... Basically I wipe arses for a living..
  11. Tried blocking your iacv? There is a sticky in how to set up your tps on tggt.
  12. ive made sure it wont get sucked in this is whats auseing my idle issue which is slightly lumpy but surley a open crankcase pipe wouldnt cause the lump to still be there no ??
  13. Hey all.. Not a starlet query but still an engine query ive got my new car and found the crankcase breather has split now it had completley disintigrated in the middle and i cant get the part right now as im skint .. is it ok to just block off whee it goes to the intake and leave the rest of the pipe venting to air?.. just i do get a lump when at idle and not sure whether im doing harm..
  14. Sticky butterfly in throttle body possibly, they do get cached up mate, get a rag a d some carb cleaner in there and give it a good scrubbing or even throttle cable..do the simple things first buddy before foarking out on parts
  15. By the way @ Daveydemolition what is that actual pipe and what does it do? i mean it comes from teh box to the intake pipe i know and it goes onto a sensor? what is that?? how did you tape that fucker its right tucked away lol..
  16. Nah 2.0 petrol.. Cheers guys cang get my fecking hand in there though:(
  17. I need to get back into a jap seat asap!! The glanzas looking very sad
  18. The pcv one was also completely missing so I put a spare bit of pipe I had on there and tightened it down with some clips.. The one in question connects straight on to a valve of some dirt on intake and is that badly perished it's not even connected.. Strange that it doesn't stall or cause any issues at high revs just at idle.
  19. Basically since my glanza decided to blow oil all out of my breather I've had to buy a new car and don't boo me please its a vw passat 2.0 estate mainly for the wife and dog but anyways... At idle in neutralil get a very slight vibration or bump through the body but it drives fine, no codes Nd idles at a steady 750rpm... I found a small hose which comes off the intake pipe to the gearbox :/ and was split wide open I mean I will fix this but surely that should cause the engine to stall... Right?? Cheers guys
