also before i even try and start there car my EBC is giving me a reading of -0.04 is this normal? (i know its only minimal but i just want to rule it out)
just changed the map sensor yet again to a different one and nothing changed. also disconnected everything that wasnt necessary from the vacuum system and just left both map sensors and the FPR and that didnt change anything but increase the vacuum from -0.68 to -0.71, when it runs "rough" it had a vacuum of -0.58 which is confusing me slightly... not really sure where to go from here :/ Brendon
Not sure to be honest mate! I found out yesterday that for some reason my map sensor is sometimes giving the ECU an incorrect voltage on idle (making the ecu think its on boost therefore putting more fuel ing and making it run rough) once i can source the problem I will be able to get back to you about what im going to do about ECU's plus my JAM hasnt arrived yet Buy the engine *cough* need some money to get this map checked out I was originally keeping it just to take apart and learn more about the engine internals, learning as i go, but if im honest i just dont have the time and all my spare time is going into trying to fix my car and get it back to running again! Brendon
I have changed the map sensor and all the pipe connecting to it, I took the reading just before the ecu, after the piggyback ecu Obviously where it's reading 3volts at idle its thinking it's under boost so therefore adding fuel which is not needed causing it to run rough! But I can't source the issue!! Brendon
I have error code 31 which is making it not start, but its fine once its started "right" as sometimes it starts giving me a really rough idle and smelling really rich! no idea what to do! lol Brendon
did a continuity test on all the wires from the map sensor to the ECU and they are all giving resistance so the wires should be in good condition. did a test drive with the multimeter connected to pins 9 and 2 on the 16 pin plug to the ECU (sensor ground and manifold intake pressure signal) and i was getting a correlation between the voltage given and the boost pressure between 1v on low no boost and 4.2v ish volts on about 0.8bar so this to me says that the map sensor is working as it should. when i started the engine and it runs fine on idle i was getting a reading of about 1-1.5 volts but the time it started and it was running "rough" it was giving me a reading of about 3volts, not sure what this means but there is definitely something wrong with that! Can anyone shed some light on my situation? Brendon
Was the £300 just for mapping or did that include an ECU? I will have to contact them! Yeah thats pretty close to where burny lives, lucky boy! thanks, Brendon
Looks like i'll be having a go at this very soon as i just bought a td04 that needs rotating! One thing that i dont get is that the oil return seemingly will be in the wrong place and how would you get the actuator to line up? cus its going to be miles out! Brendon
Trying to think of what parts i can take off of this to sell, Rocker cover, sump, throttle body, fuel rail, inlet mani, full dizzy cap, oil filter housing, flywheel, alternator? Brendon
