Yeah I really don't think it'll be the headgasket as that would keep running up to normal temp and then one day over heat. And you know if you have an air lock in the coolent system because it'll just start overheating all the time! The temp goes way off the scale everytime you run the car pretty much and thatll melt the headgasket or maybe crack the head I suppose.. My brother 106 gti had this probablem shortly after he bought it.. After we bled it it ran lovely until now as its off the road as he has a bmw cooper s. Tom.

Give it a bloody good blast too fella!! Might dislodge a blockage or dirt somewhere. And yeah the static shock is from the seats mate.. Does it to my mrs all the time. You would definitely know if the car gave you an electric shock. Tom.

But if I was gonna steal a car specifically to make money on to sell or to break and sell I would do some research a look for a car on a forum such as this perhaps as a guest or something... Also.. Perhaps they were under the bonnet mucking about with the alarm(if you have one installed) and horn?? Because when mines not locked or alarmed the immobilisor engages after 30 seconds I think it is as a protective thing. Just a thought. Tom.

Aaahh shite, probably should've mentioned they're for 14s, but all of the tyres I'm looking at on camskill for 185 55 14 look shite.. I had some khumo ecstas on the front before but they just used to spin up (did used to drive like a knob though) Perhaps ill just go for some R888's and just know the limitations in the wet and drive like a granny as its my daily driver. Aaahh right, what about a michelin tyre?? Just looking for a reall quality tyre for mostly dry but some wet b roads. Have 14s so they're not gonna be too expensive anyways. Tom.

Anyone know what these are like in the wet?? I've heard they need changing after about 1000 miles is this correct??? And how many miles before they become illegal for road use?? Tom.

Yeah mine has done this before.. Slightly different symptons If I remember but dizzy cap needed a bloody good clean and got a new rotor arm. Also.. When you took the rad cap off with a towel was the engine hot?? If so it would spill out anyways wouldn't it relieving the pressure?? Tom.

I'm running coilies on the front and standard springs and shocks on the back, make it ride a little higher at the back and the nose slightly harder over pumps etc. No biggy! Tom.
