Fitted the cup holders tonight while spraying the seat frames up. Also fitted a new rear number plate so decided to clean the boot while I was at it and this turned into a full on clean and polish as usual
Just takes time mate but they always come up and you've just got to be the first to see them ;) that's how i've scored a lot of rare bits. If i were you i'd make it nice and original but if it ever has engine trouble you could always get it forged and run more power while keeping it looking original. Even a map on it's own would see decent gains and all would still look standard.
The thing is the bay is all original and really tidy for its age. do love the idea of it running more power though along with keeping the outside standard
No big updates this weekend as I was with family but my ashtray for the cupholders arrived... Came with a lovely free gift! I can't actually believe it was sent like this. Going to take quite a bit of cleaning I think. And also finally got hold of a working clock- it's been bugging me for ages so really happy it's sorted. Had to use my original plastic surround though as the 'new' one looked like the guy had removed it with his teeth. Was only £6 though.
Totally agree mate. It's your car at the end of the day but it looks like a minter and is so rare in that condition. I'd leave it exactly how it is but do understand the temptation to play with it. Either way I'll br watching the progress
i went to Barkston a couple of times in the GT4- not to compete but just to watch. Went out on track in a friends GT4 though was tight and the track was really rough. I'm not in lincolnshire anymore as i've had to move down near Andover for work but am back in Lincs now and again.
Got the new drivers seat frame welded and fitted today, got to say that the lower position is amazing! I can now actually fit inside the car and driving position is loads better. Next up, big brake kit....
I've always fancied it too but would probably want a car I wasn't as bothered about getting a few scrapes on rather than using the SR. Anyone looked into hill climb type events?
Yeh I hated the grey one so got a black glanza one got an omp supertourismo on my garage wall but it doesn't give the car the look I'm after. Was very easy to swap over mate- there's a 'how to' on here somewhere but I can talk you through it on a PM if you like. Main thing is disconnect the battery and wait 30mins before starting work on it
Walker96 - couldn't you retro fit the winders on to them? Drill a hole through the door card or is it a bit of a mission? Ryan- yeh I really want to get it sorted but then feel like just getting one with twin breathers. Either way it'll be black when it's sorted Jack- ha ha it is a hell of a lot better but still need to finish the drivers. It should give me a much better driving position, sense of speed and hold me in the corners a bit better. Rich- cheers buddy how's yours going?
Finally got round to finishing one seat frame today- it's the passenger one at the moment as we wanted to see how it went. Turned out well and we got about a 2inch drop over the standard mounts. We ground off the four original mounts and made a square frame. Next we welded a mounting point on each corner.
