Dont worry I've done my research, the late 16v's and the St's use the same rods which is what i have left over from the first engine ;) Im all about n/a so if i can find a set of bt pistons (or cheap hi comp ones) crank and another head ill get some cams and management and see what she can do with yet another heart

The bonnet catch isnt adjustable, raising the rubbers just puts the bonnet out of line

Wrap the metal bar that the catxh hooks on to in insulation tape, both my cars do it, its a cheap easy fix and lasts months.

Ahh fair enough, id just make an afternoon out of it, have a beer or two with a mate and check it out yourself. But if your not confident then its deffo better to have someone experienced to do it for ya

First to make your life easier remove the glove box and surrounding panel lol Second get the ecu pin outs printed out. then any that are cut take a multi meter and beep them out at the place where they should be. So if (for example) the green one was rpm signal, find the cut green on the loom and go to the dizzy and make sure one of the wires beeps out with, this way you are double checking that its getting wired up correctly. It might take a bit of time but id rather spend my time than having to fork out for a new ecu

Well had a half day friday so set about preping the new tank to hopefully make it last! Started by wire wheeling all the surface rust off the new tank, nothing too bad, leagues better than my old one Prepping Hung it up to paint all over it in one go. Removed most of the paint and down to bare metal, then applied red oxide to it Hopefully this should minimise the chance of rust coming back and eating away like the last tank! After this i gave it a real thick coat of waxoil (forgot to take pictures) especially on the top as this is seems to be the place where the rust sets in the worst, my old tank was completely covered in the top but the bottom half looked fine! And just incase anyone ever wondered where i was doing this, this is the garage that we did the first engine swap in, my dads now claimed it and filled it with all his crap though! I took the car and tank to a self service garage and changed the tank over, gave the area behind the tank a coat of waxoil as well so now the whole cars got a good covering of the stuff Also fitted the whiteline 24mm FARB, this was pretty straight forward apart from it was mm's away from a lip on the chassis where it comes out of the exhaust tunnel, fairly easy fix. Smacked the lip with a hammer to bend it out the way, applied more waxoil to cover the bare metal and job done! No gap here! Refitted and covered in waxoil where it needed bending a bit, hence the black on the bar If the weathers good tomorrow im going to set about fitting the headlights and the armrest hopefully Shall post an update when i get them finished

Recaro aint very light really, lightest stock seat I've lifted was my n/a seats, they weighed half the weight of the corolla gti seats i fitted but they did suck giant testicles, recaros would be somewhere between the 2

320miles is way more than 34.5 thats more like 40mpg. 270miles is high 30's. it might be a 42ltr tank but you couldnt use it all, prob still had 5-6 ltrs left

Usually 35mpg and 38-9 on motorway runs with numberous 5th gear pulls past 7.5k lol 175hp 4age 1.6.
