Yes there has with epic results, dan3sgte if I remember right
-
Which ecu is it? Constant flashing means no codes are stored
-
When I have had updated cams on my cars I have had to set the idle at around 1100 as its very unpredictable Not sure why it's idling low when cold though, wax valve or icv maybe
-
Just make sure it's not full of gunk preventing proper breathing
-
It the other breather to atmosphere?
-
Even so could indicate ring failure, might be best to get it connected back up to the inlet mani or run a catch can setup, get a compression test done for peace of mind
-
If it was me I would keep running it in changing the oil as per run in procedure, then get it to the dyno and get a proper fuelling test done via the wide band. Unless you have fuelling mods on the car I would get it checked better to be safe than sorry
-
Pcv valve opens under vacuum so shouldn't be to atmosphere anyway

Toyota Starlet EP82 MK3 Turns Over But Doesn't Start...
gazza g replied to Calum122's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
First thing I would check is the ignition timing, if that's too far retarded or advanced it won't start Double check the timing marks after that Stupid things like idle control valve vacuum can cause the car not to start if not connected so to the map sensor connection -
You could always try soldering it back on and heat shrink?
-
Get a picture up
-
put my name down, do we pay for the stand when we get there or in advance ?
-
best bet is local parts supplier, the 4efe one is the same as 4efte
-
bit of a bad idea to be honest, did you set it up on the dyno or with a wideband in conjuntion with a adjustable fuel pressure reg? if not and you have been boosting it you may have damaged the engine, best bet is to remove it and see how it runs, if its no better then i would look at compression testing

http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?95406-rad-fan-re-wiring-assistance/page2 Have a glance at that, gt's vs glanzas wiring is different on rad circuit. Looks like on a Glanza the rad fan relay is n/o, so it may be the stat that's failed?
-
That's the stat, circuit is made when you plug it in, like a on off switch depending on temperature, it could be goosed or have you removed the air con? You may need to bridge a couple of cables on one of the plugs

Steering wheel vibrating/shaking on idle
gazza g replied to Cattanach's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
with aftermarket exhausts they can resonate and cause shaking on idle, raise idle a touch see if that helps -
surely the mapper should have set the avc-r up when he/she was mapping?
-
yeah i would get new head bolts and gasket, pain in the arse these cars at the best of times but don't give up, i had mine for 2 months last year as engine blown and gearbox soon followed suit so i know your pain end of the day your hard work isn't wasted, its just a fucked thread at the end of the day that can easily be fixed.

stereo/clock fuse - what else feeds off this?
gazza g replied to turbominicooper's topic in Electronics
Remove + from battery and test at each circuit, remove the fuses obviously or you will get a reading from all circuits -
stereo/clock fuse - what else feeds off this?
gazza g replied to turbominicooper's topic in Electronics
Are you testing for drain at each circuit or from the battery? -
