[updated 07/12]_shauns_ bought to much shite sale!!
FMuscle replied to _shaun_'s topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
You have a new PM... -
I'm doing FTE pistons on 1st gen 5E rods. I'm not following that turbo bs, my supercharger should only push about 0.7 bar when I switch it on.
-
Well if you want green, here's my "promised one" And I have more green and not green goodies coming for it...
-
I thought I'd throw this on here... free to ask, eh? I'd like a Remix front bumper, with fogs preferably but could live without. OEM, replica, new, used, damaged, does not matter. Thanks
-
Brake master cylinder?
-
It's not really that bad, unless the car looks shit, like mine at the moment with the wrap peeling off... They actually need 3 reasons to give a Yellow. First time I got one, the guy was inventing reasons to have my Starlet inspected. He doubted my red lug nuts and pointed out that I didn't have rear seat headrests...
-
Yes. I'm curious about where it crosses from the front to the engine bay. Thanks to mindless build thread I have a better idea of how the chassis looks, but seeing it done is always better.
-
I've got a platetronic at work, to test brakes/alignment of customers cars. Weightbridge included. Free and unlimited!
-
I use a 19mm deep socket with strategic cuts on the end to support the pistons. You just need to make sure the socket is deep enough not to get the pins stuck in it... <Been there...

Why are glanza/ starlet owners so stuck up

Mindless' Glanza Street Car build - DONE!!! (for now...)
FMuscle replied to mindless's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Great build, I'm following this! -
Anyone?
-
No like I said the fuel tank was empty on second weight test. Was about ¾ on first one. I will try to keep the tank dry for the next few times to keep it as accurate as possible. The A/C stuff was about 5kg.
-
Yeah, Rockingham just South of Perth. I bought mine from Melbourne (eBay) earlier today, $74 delivered for a GTi 2 core alloy rad, not bad considering a stock replacement is 400+ in stores.
-
Fitted aftermarket lights on lightbar/plate bracket. Then upgraded to Australian Outback specs.
-
I'm thinking about repainting the car "I2", Kia colour called Denim / Moonlight Blue. Pictures don't do justice to the actual paint, dark blue-green metalic that change hues depending on lighting... Any thoughts about the colour combinaison?
-
Not yet. I will. The hoses between the rad and firewall will be removed when I pull the 4E out, and for the inside, I just have to find the courage to pull it out... I have a bloody mess of wires I need to clean out in there, I have connectors to clean it and make it easier to remove the console... Because I have my starting switches where the cup holder should be, and without a connector it's a pain to remove, I currently have to pull the headunit, then unscrew the panel, pull the console, disconnect every switch, and remember where each wire goes because they're all RED!...
-
Well if the core is bad, I'll get the Suzuki GTi 2 core I found for $74. A civic one doesn't have the top hose where I want it, plus I'd hate to say I have honda parts on my car... lol Cheers mate

Gotta add something, well technically remove... Weight loss program. Lost 46kg, on the front end with the A/C removal, compressor, condensor, dryer and a couple of pipes. In the rear mostly because I was running on fumes... Before: After:
-
Hi I was removing my aircon condensor this morning and glanced over the front structure of the car. Didn't remove the washer bottle or fender linings, nor jacked up the car, and to be fair I only looked quickly, but I didn't see an obvious path... How/Where do you route your cold side piping to the inlet (pictures)? Hot side is a no brainer, specially with a half rad... I have and am keeping the N/A bumper, and I'd like to keep the pipes out of the street and view. As short as possible too... Thanks

There was a lot of flaws in that episode, as well as many others (the CAI tests comes to mind). Gotta remember they're enthousiasts, not professionals, far from it.

It reduces the intercooler efficiency, as black paint absorbs heat. Also because you add a layer on top of a very good material, aluminum, not letting the heat transfer being as easy as it should.

Do you play video games? I do. Gran turismo 5 on PS3. 1997 Glanza. 249hp, 818kg. I enter and win level 20 races with it, opponents like Supra, NSX, Skyline, Impreza, etc. with around 350-400 hp. In my last race, my closest opponent was a MR2 GT-S, 5 seconds behind on 10 laps Tsukuba... Same in GT6. Anything higher than that I use my Mitsi 3000GT, 689hp, beats C5R, Lambo, Ferrari, Veyron... I should say, I only win because of the matte paint... Now I'm impressed!

Yeah got a few in my built thread, just click the link in my sig. First post.

I was looking for a glanza one, but wasn't sure if I liked enough to pay that much money back then... But I scored a 2014 VF Comodore SSV spoiler for free at the end of last year, and I'm happy with it!
