  5. Thanks guys. The engine and box are just rattle canned with etch primer then ford graphite grey then lacquer. Just a quick job really. I pressure washed the engine when it was warm in the aerodeck. I also gave it a good clean with brake cleaner. I then used a small wire wheel thing in the die grinder to clean it up. Then wipe down with thinners. I will either do the rocker wrinkle black or wrinkle red like the type r motors. Not sure yet. I've not used that paint before so I might get another rocker to have a go on. I need to find where to get the paint the same stuff as oem. O
  6. ive not updated it for a bit but ive been busy! a few more pics of the updates. The teg eyeing up its new heart. engine out box off for dc2 flywheel which seemed a good bit lighter and less mass on it than the b18c4 one. Unfortunetly it came with a pressure plate bolt snapped off in it which took a bit of sorting out. New genuine honda clutch, release bearing and pilot bearing for the flywheel. new cambelt, tensioner, and water pump. I wrote on the pump in permanent marker the mileage and date. The cluch fork was all greased up on the pivot points
  7. good choice on the bay! How come you went for the itr master cyclinder i thought they were 1" same as the ek9? I like those rear chassis leg braces on the ek9. Honda went mental on bracing for these cars.

  9. a 205 awesome. years ago a mate had a 1.4 xs with a gti rear beam . the head gasket went so he took it to get skimmed and he said to the engineer "just take as much off as possible". and he did, right past the casting marks. anyway he built it back up and fitted an su carb on it from a mini he had and ran it on 97 octane and it was a flying machine. I remember one day we were flying round this back road with 3 of us in and we took this bridge at daft speeds and a corner right after, the back end came out round the bend and i shit my pants! but he kept his foot in and it just went round sidewa
  10. Thanks Guys. Been on this most of the day, i got some stuff back in the bay. Ive also gone through the wiring loom on the drivers side to make sure there was no damage and re wrap it all up. I found 3 broken wires which ive repaired. Tomorrow night will be going over the passenger side loom and getting that in place. Ive also had Claire and Luke on the air tools sanding and cleaning up various brackets and the battery tray ready to spray.
  11. Heres a couple of quick pics. Its came out pretty good but there are some bits of dust and stuff in it which was always going to happen in my dusty garage. I think I'm going to accept how it is as finished instead of sanding bits again to get dust out spraying another coat then more dust just getting in it again. It does look shiney and it will be nice to get it outside for a better look. Also I was careful not to put too much paint over the chassis number so it is still readable so I'm happy with that.   13. I gave it a light sand this morning and then a good clean to be sure. I soaked the garage floor to keep any dust down too. Its first coat of colour. I didnt spot any runs whilst spraying fingers crossed. I will get a better look later today when its dry and i will probably give it another coat today and hopefully that will be it! My compressor is really earning its keep now ive been using it loads.
  14. just keep a look out. autos do seem to be cheaper. It is getting hard to find a decent starlet though. Even some going through the auctions look tired now. I have most of the parts to convert mine to manual which is what i had planned to do. I just need to pick a manual box up.
  15. Exactly whats that got to do with his neighbours. Some people need to find something to do with them selfs. If i ever get that sad i think i would start digging my self a big hole and jump in. The grey GT will not be for sale. I know if i sell it i will just end up buying another at some point. Its a nice genuine GT.   16. haha. yeah they are two old pensioners who live on there own with nothing better to do. The thing is ive lived here for 4 years now and ive never had an issue with any of them until now so it was a bit of a shock.
  17. Haha.The neighbours think i already have! They wont take parcels in for me any more and were moaning about it at the start of the month. They think im running a business due to all the car parts im getting delivered and im making money from it! I explained its just my hobby and they are my cars. Then she said i make money when i sell them.   18. We have paint! Just a first coat of epoxy primer. I've noticed I've missed the passenger side engine mount lol. I've taken tomorrow off so I can get another coat on in the morning and see how I get on.
  19. U pol brush on. I've used it in the past and not had a problem though. I'm going to use tiger seal this time. From a mastic tube.
  20. Hahaha Maybe one day you will get it mate. Heres the teg in the garage. I got it all seam sealed last night and it all just pealed off and left a right mess. I was pretty pissed off so I just walked away and left it. Tonight I will be using a different product. I'm off tomorrow so hopefully I get some progress made. I've ordered some bits and bobs from tegiwa too.
  21. ive been at it again tonight mate, getting there now. Ive also sorted some tempory indoor starage out for the gt4 so the teg can go in my garage to finish prepping the bay and then get it painted. Most of the engine bay is bare metal now so any rain and it just flashes over with rust so i would just be going back wards unless its inside until painted.
  22. I got most of the red paint off out the engine bay. Its taken ages and was very thick in places. Just a bit more to go. I'm hoping to get it primed one night next week.
  23. I got the front brake hoses on last night and the ds caliper and wheel back on and off the axle stands. The ps rear caliper was seized so I took it off and the lower slider was seized in. I snapped it trying to get it off so that was the end of that. I'm hoping the carrier from the aerodeck is the same so i can pinch that. I know that's not seized as I greased it up when I bought the car a few months ago. The gf was kicking off last night as I've not done any work in the house and the bedroom is a building site. I got called plenty f words so looks like I need to do a bit in the house. I
