  1. That is far to vague of a description for any form of input mate,
  2. yea mine was the shims, i was fortunate enough to have a spare head and also all the shims i needed, i did buy a couple from maddox - he might have some left if you message him i took all my measurements and removed the cams to change the shims. long winded but worth it i also soaked the cams in brake clean and air jetted them out just incase of an minor blockages
  3. ive got loads on photobucket but they now charge to remote host them! so unfortunately not
  4. though id post this up as i plan on trying a few turbos before deciding what i ultimatly want out of my starlet, scince its been off the road for 4 years ive built a silly fast mx5 turbo and currently building a 600+ supra so my starlet goals have changed, anyway this video shows how well a td04 and 5e go together (forged build with 9.1ish compression ratio) this setup is silly responsive and i pulled a 13.8@ 102mph at just 11psi with just 330cc injectors and fuel reg. ( i have proper tuning equiptment so no need to slate lol) runs solid 11.3arfs first vid was last week second video was
  5. if your under steer is that bad your not driving properly. you can increase the grip with mods obviously, but i would say it was a plague lol
  6. have you seem my thread? http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/104982-fresh-built-engine-noise-diag-help-with-video-partly-solved/
  7. there is 2 different pump housings, i came across this issue in the past, just ordered the other pump type you can and i mean its up to you.. hit the protruding part and it will go down further which ill allow it to clear the housing.. i have done this before also just to see if it was a manufacturer error, it works, but not recomended
  8. got another time to add, took my newly build 5e (my 3rd engine in my ep) just to get a base time before mapping and turbo swap forged 5e - with 9.1 cr td0413t 11psi 330 cc injector and rrfpr crude way to run an engine in but solid 11.2 arfs on boost anway. note im not using any form of fcd so well please with this i just run a 13.78 at 102mph: as always could of improved but only wanted a base before i put a vf35 on and max it out 13.78 @102 mph goldenvtr Ep82 5efte Td04 11psi vpower michelin ps3 195 50 15 shakespear raceway 08/07/2017 https://www.instagram.com/p
  9. just had a quick look on google and cant find one i know camskill uk used to sell them. im using a cosworth iat on my stock ecu (but zisco inlet) but ill be refitting my standalone shortly. i dont know how much its affected this but it drives on http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Cosworth-YB-ACT-Air-Temp-Sensor-Temperature-/152588156869?epid=1538384972&hash=item2386f67fc5:g:pC0AAOSwwvZZQ9US uses a standard bosche plug (about 4£) however i dont recomend this unless you have suitable mapping
  10. if by that you mean sfs? then yup still got it all
  11. my mx5 turbo does 4.3 average from a gps log.... (273bhp) my starlet is quite alot faster but much slower to 60. fact is a fwd will never give a true 0-60 on the road. rolling starts from 50 is where a good comparison is also my mx5 runs 13.4 1.4mile at 107 starlet has run an 11.8 and 124
  12. first session lacked cars, second one was bit more intresting with some porsches >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE8IBMVM1KM&t=178s >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrTlyWfYEAU
  13. cool, just send me a message when your done with it
  14. Thanks for the dials. Arrived today
  15. yea that was fully warmed up and after a long drive before i turned it off. you can hear the odd lifter tick as it settle to idle then goes quiet again,
  16. Too right colin. As promised guys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9o23Gi8gCM&feature=youtu.be
  17. stock fuel pressure and injectors? concidering there only a few quid each id change water temp and air temp sensors, and run a newh vacuum line from the inlet manifold to the map sensor, prob cost 50p in hose lol
  18. to put it one way.. i caught my hi pressure line with an angle grinder so i put in a 10bar scilicone joiner and it burst (3 times) before i bought a replacement hardline. so im going to say over well over 10bar as it was almost instant to burst
  19. ill get a video over this weekend. i do have noticeable piston slap during warmup, but they you cannot tell atall once up to operating temp / 4/5mins of driving... i dont really think forged pistons not ideal for lots of short journeys from my experience, i also think this also contributes to more regular oil top ups.. i have weiscos. as this build seems to be less "slappy" than my old 5e engine
  20. mine started fom 0.02 and went up from there, i have few sets now, a halfords professional one and i bought a couple of cheap Chinese ones from ebay, only a few quid each, they do get damaged easily being as i was using the thinest ones so worth buying a couple sets http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/METRIC-17-Blade-FEELER-GAUGE-0-02mm-1mm-Guage-Measure-/322358204985?epid=630641356&hash=item4b0e0bda39:g:2IwAAOSwd0BVyHcM
  21. if you want to make some money back ill buy it off you afterwards? i made my own but its not the best lol
  22. forgot to update this, its all sorted now, reshimed again at 100miles and now done over 1200miles, it still has a minor but random tick on idle but sounds great now oh and when i reshimed at 100miles i also soaked the cames in brake clean then high pressure air though the oilways to mack sure there was no blockages, then retensioned the inlet cam i will take a video and post up next time im under the bonnet. ps,i aimed for intake 0.20 and 0.3 exhaust, my limit was +/- 0.02
  23. thanks but im sorted now thanks to james.
