  1. TD's stages just have the oil and water pumps included in the stage 3 ones where at the stage 1 doesn't have stuff like that. I can definitely see your points mate, I guess you can do your checks on an engine but can't be 100% sure on it. Would be nice to just drop it in and go though. I'm missing not being on the road, Taxis just aint fast enough. I'll talk to Zoib and see what he's got laying around and go from there! Hopefully I'll get my engine out tomorrow and send it off to be stripped down and see how bad the damage is.
  2. All the gaskets and seals come in the DIY forging kit from TD. Even if skimming the head and block and honing it and building the engine all comes in at 2k (including the parts) That's the same as Zoib wants for a second hand one. I suppose it makes sense to have a brand new one build instead of buying second hand, unless I'm missing something.
  3. Well the chap in the pictures above selling a "Fully forged stage 3" for 2k. TD's stage 3 DIY kit comes in at £1,400. Just have to find an engine builder but i can't see them charging 600 quid to build it hah
  4. If you have no luck and fancy posting it...
  5. I have thought about that and would prefer to do that but there doesn't seem to be much coming up for sale really. I'm not too fussed about running it in myself, I think I could manage it knowing I'm saving a fair few quid. That's why I wondered if it would be safe to run it in on a plug and play or would the map be too much for a none run in engine? Though if I did buy a standalone or E manage I would have TD do the mapping. Thanks for your input James
  6. Okay so my Glanza engine died and I want to forge it now but have a few questions I believe the engine will need running in. Can I do this myself? Will a plug and play ECU be okay to use or would I need say an Emanage and have it mapped? Or will it have to go somewhere to be run in on a dyno? Will the block need to be notched for the rods to fit? My plan is to buy the stage 3 DIY kit from TD and take it all to an engine builder. How will I know what piston size and head gasket size I need? Will the builder tell me the sizes I need? Thanks in advance.
  7. By different theme do you mean, Pictures in the dark one week, pictures in the rain another week? That kind of thing?
  8. Yeah, Motorhub they're called.
  9. Not necessarily more traders, But active ones. A lot of the traders on here seem pretty dead with nothing going on in their sections for years. I like the ideas about bonus balling the parts and starlet of the week ect, That gives something that Facebook can't offer easily.
  10. If up North means a multi story car park in Keighley, Save yourself the effort and don't bother.
  11. Bought an exhaust via the Facebook page, Top guy everything was exactly as explained very happy! Thanks again mate!
  12. Tuning Developments. Can't recommend them enough.

    Store away

Mine is chained to an anchor point in the garage floor. Garage has CCTV and the alarm is wired to an air raid siren lol.
  14. Probably as nay as shopping lists on the doors.
  15. Maybe it is, I don't think they even make good action films really, So over the top it isn't even entertaining. Each to their own.
  16. Car has now sold, Didn't hang around for long!
  17. People actually still watch those films? They've all been dog wank since Tokyo Drift lol
  18. I can believe it, This car is mostly standard apart from the suspension parts I've replaced, It was in a shed for 14 years, Guy before me had it sat up for a year and I've had it in garage for almost 2 years haha. It's on eBay now so I don't think it will be around for much longer.
  19. I had planned on putting a 13B Turbo into it from an FC along with the sub-frame hence why I haven't played with the engine in it apart from the day I got it. I'm 100% sure it will rise in value, The price I'm asking is rather low but needs must. Thanks for the kind words!
  20. The valves not seating would explain the low compression but not the pulsing air coming from the oil filler and the car burning a lot of oil I don't think. Thanks for the websites, Didn't know about those
  21. Would you say I just have worn piston rings then or some other issue?
  22. Thanks time to price up a rebuild i suppose haha
