Well not much to report atm, waiting on more details about my coilovers and have now got mintex brake shoes sat waiting to go on, looking at the brembo drums too but not sure there is much point in going for them so need to research a bit more, and now looking at putting a twin pot kit up front, then when all that is sorted she is off to jd modified for a custom exhuast and undersealing then, off we go to he land of boost! Vf24 take two lol no measing about this time though as again the boys at jd modified will prob be fitting the aem standalone to the car and mapping her up so fingers crosse

As above! The issue you have is there is no solid structual poit at wich to fix the bar! The only way i can see you doing it is with a custom cage that incorperates a harness bar, looking at prob 1200+ for that plus you mqy asbwell then have it fia certified so that will cost even more!! Just leave it with the seatbelt mountings, and DO NOT fix to a c-pillar brace! Its not strong enough and will not support you in a crash!!!!!

ah cool chees enzo, and ill pm you
-
speaking with a suspension company about a custom set of coilovers what about spring rate enzo?
-
right looking at coilovers ect? how much lower are the strut tops on the ep*5 compared to the standard ep's and also is the standard ep's coilover spring rate ok or do the 4wd's need a stiffer rear spring rate?? i need to know asap!! got somthing planned
-
actualy rob one of our cutomers for the electrical company i work for is called easy stands, they make all sorts of easy assembly signs, one of wich is like the vertical pole type banners that sxoc and mlr use at shows, i spoke to them and they said they would take an order as low as one unit so if you want me to get contact details for them for you fire me a pm and ill sort somthing for you. could be something to benifit the club at all shows can be seen from afar then

realy not that bad tbh when you think about what you got outof the money i whent to florida a last year and spent around 1500 and that was just two weeks in a villa, and themeparks, food, ect so for the extra money thats very worth while id say
-
sounds amazing bud!! id love to have a go at that. can i ask how much you think it cost all in??
-
fuckin right sparkster!!! this makes for a very happy story now!! actualy cant stress how chuffed i am that you have carried on! BUILT NOT BOUGHT!!!!!!!
-
I think the snap from last time was just bad luck, is like anything when enough are mass produced the odd one will be cack! Think you just had a cack bolt last time bud
-
The 60 is very hard dude, seemed to turn for ages and i thought tge same the first time i used arp bolts, i realy wouldnt use the oem settings as its a totaly different type of bolt so that tiny difference in slack will be taken up im movement under boost if that makes sense, hence the head lift that you got last time. Like lew says just crack out your guns and torque her up!
-
Haha, yea im sure you remeber how bloody hard the last sequence is lew lol.
-
Im fairly sure I've done mine to 60, ill dig out my arp torque spec sheet, i just did what the sheet recomends for them, dont get me wrong was fooking hard on the final set!
-
Fair comment mate, just meant you have built a fair few now what with the na conversion ect, just seem to remeber you having trouble with a few. Is fair enough you want to do it all yourself just thought as its the demo car and your business is bodywork not engines would make sense to have a built engine dropped in to garentee reliability and maximise advertising.

Lol the speced up wms/wilwoods are like 650-800 and a twin pot kit wont cost anywhere near that bud. Its your choice i just dont think many members realise how easy an uprated kit can be formed and so end up spending a bomb on 4pot kits wich arnt realy needed. And a nissan 4pot kit can be built up cheaper too! Sourcing calipers from japan keeps costs down. Yes 4pot kits are good, 6 pots are better and 8 pots are better still but fook me lads we dont drive 800hp skylines! 200-300hp starlets do just fone on twinpots and if you realy want to go all out then upgrade the rear brakes, big arse 4pots
-
Still think twin pots and good discs and pads are perfect ollie. Yea ok a caliper my want a rebuild but fook me that costs nothing, and discs and pads arent that pricey for them either, and as me and turbo grant know, (as does zac now he has my old kit) there ARE direct bolt on discs available too so no spacers anymore. Far far cheaper than a wms kit and more than man enough for what you want dude. Wms and wilwood kits are expensive and for that money you could buy r32 or s14 4pots with a 'dog bone' adaptor and run that cheaper too! Is the most overlooked upgrades for starlets and there are pl

Oh dear ed bad times. Should of mapped her right up! Would of been an evo killer then.
-
Idrees dude no disrespect is meant but after all the bad exeriances with engines you have built would it not be better to either a; pay some one to build you one or b; not cut corners with the parts. I bought a 270 quid cruise hg, it blew 500miles due to cheap head bolts looked fine and i still binned it and replaced with athena and arp bolt set, and if the head comes off for anyreason the arp bolts will be binned and replaced as you can never be to careful on engines otherwise you just end up taking them apart all the time.

Told you thoese end caps didnt wana move lol, get em sorted the wings will look sick, i spent a lil over £23k in the five years i owened the black v and bear in mind the car only cost £2.5k landed from japan! So stop winging your a long way off the point of saying you have spent too much lol. Ek9 is not half as good as a sorted v, you will miss boost dude FACT! i lasted 3weeks then bought another starlet just need to drop my engine back in it. If your that fed up with her mechanicaly, bring the car to me and turbo grant and leave it with us for a few weeks and we can sort it al -
id consider maybe letting it go, pm me an offer mate, i wouldnt even know where to begin pricing it. i do love it though as I've never seen the tool kit before, they never seem to survive the trip on the boat
