The mains were tighter than the big ends if that's any relevance.

But my original bearings were mostly 2 with the one 3 which you wouldnt be able to identify which one from the measurements I took.

Plastiguage the bearings and I would imagine you'd be fine I did the same with Taiho bearings and the tolerances were at the tighter/midrange end of the scale which I was happy with touch wood😐

When I've had a FCD incorrectly fitted disrupting the earth the dash boost gauge would just register maximum if that's any help.

I don't see an issue with running them daily and I always have, it's what they were designed for and as long as you keep on top of maintenance they should be fine. I do see people's point though when there modded to be so highly strung, Paddle clutchs and stripped interior can make the commute a bit wearing😬

Well after having an enjoyable summer with the car, the nagging feeling that I would have to come to a decision whether to spend more or find a replacement, was playing on my mind. Obviously not being able to think of a worthwhile replacement new or old that would offer the uniqueness and enjoyment without considerable more financial outlay the decision was made to rebuild/refresh the engine. In order to do this I needed somewhere to carry out the work and after looking at the options and hassling friends and family, I was able to get the use of my Dads Garage but it was two hours away.
