I think it's just the fuel running back down the pipe or something to do with the pressure of it. Nothing to worry about either way.

That "fizzing" noise is nothing to worry about at all mate it's just the fuel filter. Made me jump the first time I heard it I thought it sounded like the noise of eletricity sparking on something lol...

If someone has a good pic of the rolla mani I could do a bit of a makeshift photoshop on paint to show what I'm trying to explain if that above doesn't make sense.

I'd blame the plonker that fitted it into the other car then. Nothing to do with anybody.

With the corolla manifold: After looking at some pictures it seems that the manifold will need to be modified, the "flange" part will need to be cut off, and then the part before it splits into four runners (the "ball" sort of shape thing) will need cutting back, the flange thing will need to be bored out to a bigger size and then welded back onto the manifold to allow for the bigger size throttle body. So basically even if you put a bigger throttle body on there it's still choked by the inlet of the inlet manifold. So needs a bit of custom work. But it looks to me like it's the most air you'll be able to get in there without upgrading to ITB's or forced induction or some sort of custom setup. Although I could be talking out my arse, someone please correct me if I am. (I know my explanation isn't exactly as technical as it could be).

I read that the 7AFE TB will fit on the 4EFE, with little modification? The 4EFE TB is 55mm, how big is the 7AFE one? All I can find is 76-78mm, is that correct? Has anyone actually tried one of these? Did a quick search on google and found bugger all, just wanted to know if these would be a worthwhile mod for the 4EFE. (I thought it would be as most airfilters fit 76mm piping which is roughly the same size as what the 7AFE TB is).

Throttle body is the bit between the air pipe and the inlet manifold. Is the 5E throttle body the same as the 4E? I might look into getting a 7AFE TB, and seeing as you wont need it for a couple of years I could sell you my one if I buy a 7AFE TB. But that's assuming the 7AFE TB is a worthwhile upgrade and you wont be driving this car anytime soon? On another note, what's happening to the old engine? This engine is to replace the one you've got with the nackered bottom end yes?

I thought that too but only need a couple, there's like little bumps on each end of the pipe, is a squeeze to get the silicone bits on, I don't think they'll be coming off in a hurry.
