I think the idea with the HDi kits is that they are designed for the 98 spec rather than the early ones. And then people with early spec bumpers buy them and cry about the cutting... I heard HDi were making a kit specificly for EP82's aswell?

If you're feeling constructive you could grab yourself a universal core for around £100 and a piping kit for less.

Bullshit a VTR or Fiesta Zetec will not cream a Starlet, N/A's do quite well to keep up with VTR's acceleration wise up to about 70-80. Although I do agree they are fucking slow comparitively, I get bored shitless of mine until I chuck it into a corner at silly speed, but they are definately not bad for a 1.3. They do well to keep up with bigger cars and will blast most 1.2-1.4's into the weeds. (That is of course once you have a Corolla inlet manifold on there). But in the bigger picture even turbo Starlets are slow as shit, they are underpowered in standard form but of course there is huge

Unless you really are concerned about the extra goodies that come with the SR don't fall into the common trap of "I've got to have an SR or nothing". If a Sportif or S or CD or whatever the fuck else comes up at the right price in good condition with low miles then don't be put off by it just because it isn't an SR.

Don't fit a FCD without sorting the fuelling... fuel cut is there for a reason.

French cars are underpowered bags of shit but you can't step away from the fact that the handling of the 106 gti for example is amazing. Their reliability and engines and build quality are terrible though. Oh and the pedal setup in 106's/Saxos is just shocking.

Ct9,td04,td05,td06, Td12 Hybrids Etc Etc

Maybe draw up a graph in Excel then print screen it if you can't directly post spreadsheets on here although you probably can? -

I think it would be good also to note roughly the turbo's maximum efficient boost for example CT9 = 1 bar. And other things like minimum required mods to run the turbo, power range of the turbo, recommended setups, etc... It's very easy with a CT9 and hybrids everyone knows the score... but once you go onto bigger turbos it's not as clear. -
Has anyone got any pics of the WEPR kits as I can't find them on TGTT and I'm interested to see what they're like.

This might help: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....urbo+comparison -
I don't actually have any experience with any intercoolers but from just looking around at them I'd go for the HDi one. The JDM brands are silly expensive, the autobahn/japspeed ones have shitty long piping routes, the only "problem" I can see with the HDi one is the amount of cutting you need to do to the bumper. Other than that you could make up a custom one but the HDI ones have a very good piping route and nice big core aswell and seem to be the best out of the "low budget" intercoolers. edit Forgot about WEPR but I haven't actually seen these ones, anyone got any pics?

Get a Corolla manifold the standard one is a pile of wank. It will bolt up fine, if it fits the standard it will fit the Corolla one. As far as I know the turbo cams are the same or almost the same as the normal 4EFE cams, if you want bigger cams you could try finding some 5EFHE cams or you'll have to get some made.
-
Nice, what other mods do you have?
-
I had a quick look at tyre prices earlier, T1Rs are like £20 cheaper each on 15" wheels compared to 16s.
-
If I were you mate I'd get a new hotside pipe made up as those ones have a really shitty long route. Other than that it's looking good I'm sure you'll easily get 200bhp on one of those TD12 hybrids.
-
In my opinion you should go for lower profiles if you can afford it, unless you really want more comfort. Toyo Proxes T1-R are good tyres for the money apart from they wear down relatively quick due to being a soft compound.

Sounds like you're simply hitting fuel cut then. Get your boost gauge wired up and turn the boost down a bit.
-
What ECU/management are you using? And how much boost are you running?
-
oh shit Is it any easier/harder to get to?

It's behind the glovebox, take the glovebox panel out and it's easy to get to.

Tuning the N/A for more power with a larger powerband
ste91 replied to ste91's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
No one as of yet has been able to remap a Starlet ECU. That's why all you see is piggybacks or plug & play ECU's which simply have a daughterboard wired into them. -

As far as I know someone on the AUSC changed something in the ECU to raise the rev limit, that's about it. -
I'd be inclined to say your current springs are no good, try some different springs.
