  1. What the Volvo?? Using my awesomely none existent understanding of the Swedish language its the stock engine but obviously full forged and it pushes out over 700bhp
  2. LOL @ that Escort, now that is However, I believe that this is probably the ultimate sleeper:
  3. Il be in Doncaster now lads so will have to be another time. Are there any plans for a rolling road day at monster motorsport soon??
  4. Spotted in Tanvic carpark today around 1pm time, didn't see the reg as only caught a glance, had white 5 spokes IIRC.
  5. I might be able to come along. Providing that: 1. Im not in Doncaster and 2. Non Starlets are allowed!?!?!?!
  6. Ive been looking at a Scooby for a bit of a track project, possibly. But then again every other car Ive looked at has the potential aswell!!! Would get an RA edition or at least a WRX and then put the type RA gearbox in, they properely fly with that box in them
  7. Same engine in both mate, I would go for a GT, Glanza's are too common nowadays
  8. I used to have a rev1 turbo, if I was to get another it would defo be a rev3 onwards

    Over Boostin

creepy= boost creep Do a search mate its been covered a gazillion times
  11. Stock vs stock a GTi-R will annihalate a 220 turbo
  12. Well thats what they said!! As I said previously this was when the course first started when I did it and Lincoln was the only place in the country where the corse was held, so things may have been different back then??
  13. The weak link is the gearsets themselves as they are the same as for the 1.4 Sunny IIRC!! My mate put a Quaife box in but still buggered it up as he only changed the casing. The the full Quaife box (gears and casing) is around £2.5k but well worth it in the long run. The engines are pretty good as its an SR20 lump so quite robust, they only start failing and blowing up if you push to much power/boost through them without uprating pistons etc, same with any engine really. to be honest mate, if you are happy with the Starlet then keep it. A GTi-R will leave you skint unless its an abs
  14. My mates had 3 of them. Not particular reliable for a Jap car, prone to rust, gearbox can't handle much more than stock power, brakes are shit and very very thirsty. Having said that they are fairly easy to get good power from and they are very quick. I have no doubt that a 300bhp GTi-R will see off my GT-Four, which is similar power, in a 1/4mile run. However I could out handle, out brake and look an awful lot better while doing it!!! Pulsars are quite an ugly looking beast.
  15. Well he showed me the speed gun when he pulled me in, 41mph 30mph zone. I would suspect that different forces use varying amounts of discretion though as you say. Also bear in mind that I did the course over 4 years ago so its probably changed slightly since then, at the time Lincoln was the only place in the country that held the courses, there was people who had travelled all the way from Bournemouth to do it!!
  16. I had my licence just over a year when I did it. Cop asked how long Id be driving and he said "obviously you don't want points then?" then he said I could take the course if I wanted too. He seemed quite interested in the Starlet too!! And yes you do get tea for dunking biscuits
  17. I did the speed awareness course over 4 years ago, got caught doing 41 in a 30 or something similar, that was by a cop with a radar gun and then he pulled me in and gave me the option of points or the course. Takes a few hours and all you do is watch videos and eat biscuits.
  18. T5 engines sound amazing, my mate used to have an 850R and that thing could shift even though it weighed the same as a small country. And the Swedish do silly things with them:
  19. Which is the only good thing about that car
  20. Ha, try a GT4. £60 for 180 miles ;) Needless to say I don't use it everyday
  21. I paid £4995 for my 1993 EP82 back in April 2005. Completely standard, not a single mark on it and with 24,000 on the clock. Possibly the cleanest GT in the country at the time.
  22. I make signs and stick graphics on cars and vans
  23. Yeah but GT's are better anyway so your gaining not losing ;)
  24. The GT's are slightly lighter and also the Glanza has a boost restriction in 1st and 2nd gears, however if you bypass the restriction then they are pretty much the same
