  1. It was a proposition lol... Joz
  2. JoJo = UKSC Secretary??? Joz
  3. Fair play Phi, you always were really into your music. Joz
  4. Thats what we're all here for Kev, to learn and share information and ideas. The middle size injector is 225cc, green found usually in the 5E-FHE. So 195cc, 225cc, 295cc. The 4EFTE injectors are brown (295cc) As for the bigger injectors not doing anything for you, it is only a good idea to add them if they are intended for the setup, so if adding the rest of the glanza S stuff and working glanza s ecu, it would be fine. Some oem ecu's refuse to work with anything but the intended injectors. Joz
  5. ^^ Now thats a plan to see some real track action! Know of any other possible events fishyjnr? You can always hop to Tokyo with us Phil... Joz
  6. Heres an example of what injector colours look like. http://www.japaneseperformanceparts.com/images/injector.jpg As for the actual colour that the Glanza S injectors are meant to be, Im afraid I dont know. In the pics of squeekyduck's they look blue/gray to me. Joz
  7. Well first things first, it would have to be UK based. The main purpose is to get our cars on show to a decent and large event for Jap cars only which can cater a stand for us. JAE was the biggest in UK. Is the next biggest event Japfest? I've heard it isnt as good as JAE, hopefully we can get more feedback on this. Joz
  8. I am sorry to hear this. Hopefully it can still be organised, I had no idea they were stretched to the limits organising this event, shocking for such a high profile event! Joz
  9. Cheers man, only sharing what Ive experienced and believe in. I dont think its worth using different measurements all the time in this topic bro, one PS is about 98.6% of one bhp which means its a slightly smaller unit of power, when you said the 5EFE would give you 100PS for the same outlay as the Glanza S components, it just didnt sound right compared to 89bhp. Its all nitpicking, but I think we should stick to BHP to keep things simple Sorry for any confusion on both parts. Joz
  10. Glad I was of some help Kev There is always a trade off with modifications, i.e change the inlet manifold and it makes the car run less top end. The 5EFE is the cheapest upgrade of them all, with this comes the lowest gain of them all (15bhp) (10ft tq) from an engine change as its basically the same engine with a taller block that adds the extra displacement (1331cc/1497cc), its a drop out/drop in affair bar 2 sensors that need switching and you retain your 4EFE tb. Im all for n/a tuning the E-Series engines but deep down I think the one we all want is forced induction. It (n/a) does keep insurance down and there is less to go wrong, and safer too however lol. Keep your options open and keep researching, there will be other n/a tuners about who can give you pointers. I've taken mine as far as I can go really without adding FHE internals, heck I've even added TRD engine mounts and an engine damper. Im just really happy to have a solid base for the next transplant... Keep up the good work Kev and hope you get the gains you seek. Joz
  11. The Euro/UK 5E-FE is 89bhp Geo I've stressed that many times . You wont get 100ps from one. Only early distributor USDM 5E-FE (91-95) are 100bhp as standard. To be honest I dont think the extra glanza S components will make much difference, first you need to get the Glanza ecu working, then it would still have been mapped for Jap fuel. To noticed the difference truthfully you would need to get it rolling roaded before and after, it doesnt seem worth all the bother for insecure gains. I'd go for a 5efe/5efhe transplant if you want to stay n/a or go FTE when you can afford it. The potential is there with the 4E-FTE and altho common is one of the very reasons people love and look after their starlets as the performance is there for what the engine is as well as the car. Just my own opinion, nothing more, nothing less. If anyone gets the gains they are after with the Glanza S components I'd be happy for them however there are other ways to make the 4efe more drivable as it is such a simple economy twin cam engine. If you are after performance then I'd transplant a performance engine. Im only running my 5efe temporarily... There is a misconception to tuning the 4efe as not a lot can be done to it unless you invest in it internally. You can make it more drivable by adding the corolla manifold and a decent cold air induction kit with decent air feed. From personal experience full exhaust system doesnt do an awful lot and the gains would be minimal, upgrade to 2" and you may still lose some torque. Also you usually only see your highest bhp at higher revs of full throttle e.g after 4k rpm or similar, so the general drive below that would be so so. So don't think that 100bhp will happen all the way through your journey because it wont. With my setup I have to wait until 4k in mine for the car to liven up. Its decent and probably the best I will ever see out of my n/a but I thirst for better things. @Kev - The bigger injectors wont help as the standard ones probably aren't even maxing out, it would make things worse, extra fueling is only needed if you have mods that need it i.e bigger turbo etc. TRD 0.5mm or 0.6mm headgasket would help to raise compression ever so slightly, it hasnt been done yet on here, I have one in storage. The glanza TB needs slight modification to get it working, I would go for a 4AFE or 7AFE upgrade if you are really looking to go up a size. Joz
  12. Loving the new slipstreams Rich. Hope to see more pics of them on the car. Keep up the good work! Joz
  13. Thats good news mate ^ Keep hounding him lol. I need to get them brakes on. Joz
  14. You may just be in luck there Graeme mate. And tell Heather we will have JGT with us, our ultimate friend/translator/guide After talking to our man who is usually in Japan (he cant get the site working for some reason) we have decided this will take place in early December which is leaving it a little late but does give everyone plenty of time to save up. Seeing as not many people can make it in March, plus he will be going there privately in August, December is the next best bet, Tsukuba or no Tsukuba, its on. We can't put it on/off anymore so if we want JGT with us (which we do) then December it will have to be Feedback would be great. This is UKSC's trip and Ive been ready to go since last July, funds and all. Joz
  15. Someone should be on to clear this up later mate, hopefully Jay as he has access to the part numbers and what they are for. Be patient Joz
  16. It seems you have the wrong part number Nic. You say the bottom nut doesnt seem to thread in properly which means its the wrong thread type/length/size, the slight variation in part number could be that difference if everything else to do with the fuel filter assembly (bracket, threads and fixings) are sound. Best wait til Jay or someone who had a similar problem give more useful advice. Joz
  17. I understand now I would have meant if you hadnt any of those booked We'll have to see about November as that is much later in the year but we will keep things posted Hope you enjoy Lemans & Nurburg. Joz
  18. It Returns!!! Joz
  19. Thats an open debate Elaine Ring/LeMans or Tokyo for 10 days, hmmmm Joz
  20. We are doing our very best to make sure this trip happens this year Elaine It was meant to be in November '07 but not everyone could make it. We also wanted our friend JGT with us but he wasnt able to. The situation now is that JGT is available and ready to go in March, and certain people who need to go on the trip cant make it. As soon as we get dates we will let everyone know, Im very serious about this trip so I'll make sure it gets organised We are looking into when the next Tsukuba Time Attack will be, we want the trip to coincide with that ideally. Joz
  21. This is the best info on removing the fuel filter and re-fitting it by Jaystar. Fuel Filter Tutorial Hope this helps. Joz
  22. As soon as we get solid dates, you would be more than welcome Gerard! Joz
  23. Thats a big blip then for this trip lol. No news on the time attack yet mate. I had no idea you were booked for March. Sorry everyone but looks like the dates may change again, stay tuned for further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience Joz
  24. Welcome Mikey. Hope to see you on the site more often. Joz
  25. Your trip sounds awesome Wallace We'll keep you posted on dates, you never know! Joz
