  1. 11days!!! Thats shocking ....bit off topic but we left a car to be painted and was quoted a weeks timescale, we later found out the tosser had been driving the car around for atleast 4days!!! what did it fail on?

  3. Whats the mileage on "tilly"? what oil do you use?? A new engine wont be needed .........most likely valve stem seals, or one of the oil seals can you see any leaks??
  4. ^^^ with the oil comming out, clutch will probably start slipping keep an eye on oil levels too

  8. you still have the rev counter in the car, this is just a big fancy version...also aftermarket ones tend to react faster and are able to keep up with rapid rev movement i.e when the theres wheel spin
  9. the thing you`ve got to realise is no-one has ever tried to sound deaden a starlet before, quite the opposite most people strip the rear out etc etc to save weight. Anything you do with regards to sound deadening will be the first steps so input on whats good and whats not will be minimal....id go with a cheaper version of something similar to the dynamat and you cant go far wrong.

  12. You support the filter with a spanner (has a cut out) and use another to get it undone

  15. spark plugs as standard are the same i think? when you begin to mod you need different heat ranges to suit (7,8,9 etc) oil filter is the same cambelt,tensioner, idler is the same dizzy + rotor are are both different standard air filter is the same fuel filter is the same brake pads/discs vary between the years oil is a preference really (for the N/A 10w40 is perfect) CV joints are different (inner outter spline count is different) thermostat is the same aux belts are the same (glanza has a different powersteering belt....use the N/A belt if you have removed AC) water pump is the same

  19. I can get 200 to £20 or 50 to £20........its all in the way you drive bro. Change gears at 2k use higher gears when you can accelerate slowly.
  20. I think? i get the same 50ish at best in 2nd ECU number -10240 Is the code not part of the VIN plate? someone on here made a thread about how to I.D gearboxes...

Cant remember how many lessons, wanted to pass first time as i know it would have knocked my confidence so took an extra few lessons.....also couldnt afford to re-book/wait 10 years for a re-test date, took one each week tho using my EMA/pay at work and saved about £2.5k to get on the road asap! passed therory with 2 wrong passed practical with 4 minors car was a new astra, petrol 1.8?
