  1. I'd guess the harnesses were partly to blame for his spinal problems, that's not something he'll forget for some time. People gave me a hard time for pointing out safety flaws in peoples builds, it might come across as being douchey, but safety has to be your number 1 concern when fitting things like roll cages and harnesses. Be smart people.
  2. http://www.iwsti.com/forums/good-interior/84794-sti-robot-project-robotmeter-project-see-post-461-if-you-want-test-setup-out.html That's the big project, it will take some reading through, there's detail on his trials and tribulations throughout the post, I'm about 20 pages deep at the moment. Some more useful stuff here.. http://blog.nsfabrication.com/2009/06/29/arduino-based-lcd-boost-gauge-with-resettable-peak-hold/ and here http://cstark27.blogspot.co.uk/ I was going to start with a lap timer first, just a simple start a timer at a given GPS co ordinate, and stop th
  3. I really want to do this as well, how are you getting on? I'm a .NET developer by day, super her by night.. just kidding. Anyway, I bought a Netduino to play with. I want to do similar, just oil temp/pressure, boost and also a lap timer. I'm at the stage now where I need to start buying sensors, I have a link bookmarked at work from a guy who did a lot of research and started doing a similar sort of thing, will try and remember to post it here tomorrow.
  4. Needs paint and heaps of other stuff mind you!
  5. Interested in the brakes, can you tell me what size the disks are please? What pads are fitted to them?
  6. Garry, is there any chance you can send me just a photo of the bracket used to mount the Wilwoods to your hubs?
  7. As titled, anyone got one laying around?
  8. The E60 appears to be a step backwards in build quality when comparing to an E39, go figure. A friend of a friend is selling a E39 530i Sport Touring, so hopefully it's OK and I can be tooling around in one of those. Also heaps cheaper than the E60, which means more money for the race car, bit of a win/win. As far as licence goes, don't have the necessary stuff yet, but will be booking a test as soon as I have the correct vehicle. A close friend of mine owns a grounds maintenance firm, so I can do my licence through them, and also make use of their trailers from time to time too.
  9. Without wanting to hijack the thread, although it appears Iamlegend gave up on it already. I'm going to be getting something suitably German to tow it with, Audi or BMW, off to look at a E61 525 early doors tomorrow. Just need to work some magic on the price, as at the moment it's just a little bit rich. We shall see..
  10. Are you using a legit copy of the nav software? Mine would crash constantly until I switched back to the original CD, worth a try. I just sold my M3, I need to buy something that will tow my Starlet, never has there been a more boring car search. Even semi interesting cars like S4's which you would think could tow, can't.
  11. Mine is at 80k and fine, you need to do a better job of looking after it!
  12. My friends son has just been employed by Mercedes F1 to paint their cars. He started painting maybe 2 years ago, worked at a couple of body shops and went to college on day release. The thing that separated him from others was his passion for his craft. His work was top notch, spent time at home with his dad learning to airbrush, etc. Problem for someone who already earns OK money will be losing that, you'll probably earn minimum wage until you get good, and even then you'll need to exceptional to make decent money. But put in the hours, and be passionate about the things you do and that
