What series are you going to be racing this in?

Cleaned one of mine today as well..

This was for sale a few months ago when it was black, it was Doncaster based too. I went for a look, it was ok, but tatty for the money he was after.

I've owned a single turbo RX7, S14, GT-Four, and whilst the old Japanese stuff is cool to look at, they are decades apart from my E46 M3 in terms of build quality, comfort, reliability and day to day performance. My brother has a 350z, it looks ok, sounds nice but is dreadful on fuel and i think it's fit and finish inside is really bad as well. Hard plastics all over, shitty buttons, etc. If you buy something new like the Ibiza you're buying at the top of it's depreciation curve, you stand to lose thousands of pounds if you buy one now.

E46 M3, E39 M5? Proper cars.

Crush bend roll cage which would squash if ever needed, un fire walled fuel system inside the cabin, harnesses looped over an alloy strut brace, a dashboard that would chop your legs off in a big impact, the list goes on. This car would never pass scrutineering at a motor sport event here, and for very good reason.

My E46 M3 isn't brilliant on track which is why I now have a Starlet too.. What works on the road doesn't work on track, and vice versa.

Drag racing is largely a pointless exercise, but drag racing with human sized ballast has to be one of the daftest things I've seen.

Oh dear.. Kids. A big reason in my opinion is you suddenly realise you have thousands, and thousands of pounds in something that is still a 20 year old Toyota, especially if it's your only car. Or you have a shit box daily that you're becoming increasingly frustrated driving, and you figure that all the money that's been put into the Starlet can go on something much nicer. As stated, just my opinion.
