Does this look like its been hybrid to you?
Glanza_Ragger replied to Glanza_Ragger's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
alright dave, One of my mates bought it off of somebody because his ct9 was smoking like a good'un. for some reason it suddenly stopped smoking so there getting rid of it. now i thought , assuming its a ct9a , it would have 4 sets of twin fins... this has 6 sets of twins...and one of the fins is marked with a red pen, as you can see...very minimal play in the shaft, and all it needs is the exhaust housing being mated to it. im ripping my ct9b off my glanza today/tomorrow/when/if it stops raining... as im having it rebuilt and hybrid..allthough seeing this made me wonder about trying it. -
it has 6 sets of twin? fins... looks like the filter outlet is slightly thinner to which would mean its been machined out to allow for a different wheel.

you said your getting it on the rolling roa to have the fuelling set up, so if they do a proper job it shouldnt over/under fuel

your a mechanic? lol dont they need proof ? thye ask me for some sort of proof when i say it..

you can run it with out a remap, but to be honest i wouldnt go over a bar boost with out a remap, ecu etc. some people do, some people dont and would highly recomend you to sort the ecu out too. to get anything out of that setup you'll want to chip or upgrade the ecu mate. you didnt mention an fcd or bcd of some sort?! seeing as you havent got an ecu to override the fuel cut, you must be running one to be boosting at 1.1? as for pistons JE's as there not floating head types im pretty sure.someone might back me up?

Glanza_Ragger replied to stan_the_man's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
if your at a breakers, take the hose of as im sure you need the matching hose to fit. polish it instead of painting. bit more work but it'll be well worth it when its all shiny ... me and shiny things -
hey hey thats my glanza lol ooer no intercooler or dents on the bonnet haha 21 in feb by the way people, make sure you all club together and buy me something nice insurance is definately a pain on the starbo turbos untill you turn the rip old age of 20.seems to be when everyones drops down quite a notch

yeh as long as its running spot on shaun thats all that matters. yeh get a few photos up or a writeup of how you rotated it etc, to fit.. as theres tons of diesel ct9's on ebay.. allways are. get a writeup done bro and people will love you

yepp as ecks said, it depends on what parts your on about. generally if it has "shaft play" you need it reconditioned bro... best bet it to get it done properly if you havent got much idea about it.. or bring it over to mine one day so i can see exactly what bit your on about... orrr get a photo lol..

lol just take that side intercooler pipe off, drop the aircon pump from its mount, and stab a BIG screwdriver through it straps are useless. so are the chain types, they just crush it to death. stabbings the way forward.... in car terms.... that is..

;) ;) final fantasy

if its just a small harline crack, it will be fine. if it looks major you need to send it to have a shim inserted in the wastegate port. they fix the crack and then all the stress goes on the shim instead of the wastegate opening. and i would have thought if the shaft wobbles youll need a new shaft andh ave it rebalanced, somebody correct me if im wrong. which i could well be lmao its late and ive had a hardddd day at work. ;)

good stuff ;) in my opinion, uprated discs , braided lines and uprated pads will be plenty to stop you unless your planning mega power or serious weight inside the car.
-
its not exactly like a diesel needs to spool up fast ? lol unless you need to get your kids to school ontime ;)
