you didnt declare your mods? well not to sound like a complete cunt, but thats your own fault really, i appreciate hindsight is a wonderful thing, but you wouldn't be in this situation otherwise. sorry to hear it mate, but i presume and hope you'll learn from this. Hopefully you'll be back bigger and better soon though bud, keep your chin up. -
or ventura, prob better again than spax, as they're made by bilstein.
-
Well la de da! i'll take my business elsewhere then

nice mate, alloys are a bit gay but i love the concept, small and light, thats what i've gone with, but hopefully i should have some decent suspension soon, aswell as collecting a WEPR mani on the weekend such as yourself, and then a blitz decat and JAM ecu when funds allow, so they'll be quite similar little beasts (well, except yours being a girly auto hahaha, just kidding). Whats this brake thing you're doing? i was looking at upgrading to some 3G discs as they're cheap but if there's something else then i'm interested, get a step by step thing up... you changing the calipers?

i'll be aquiring one on the weekend, whats this about washers? is this true for the first generation manifolds? got any pics? also, whats this about the bolts? why wouldnt they be the same? :/

Who bought the silver one from CID? that thing was rediculously overpriced, i should know, because it came in with mine!!! just took a while to shift (hence why it has the same wheels that mine had).

Starlet GT Turbo ( Thoughts Please )
ecksjay replied to Starlet_Bristol's topic in Lifestyle General
200bhp is probably pushing it on a standard engine, if its just been slapped on with no thought of anything else, and plus if you havent built it yourself you'll have no idea how its been treated or built, and to what standards etc, thats usually a big concern of buying import motors. a few mods are the norm, but getting to that point you'd want to know ALL the details. -
nah just look at the previews, which funnily enough has just come on, they've so americanised drifting its unbelievable, i.e not in a good way. i hope its good, but 2f2f was a complete load of crap, so im guessing this aint gonna be much better. It certainly aint no initial d

dont make us get out the chav jokes again... haha only joking, i certainly wont be going to see it, i cringe to think at what its gonna start once its out for sure, some sort of crazy chav craze of trying to drift their saxo's etc, shame they've cashed in on the scene, but we can only hope it wont fuck it up as much as i expect it will.

sits very nice mate, good work.

cut corners? mine were exactly the size ring i believe, they order them to suit so you could have ANY size to ANY size, its all completely custom, and as such any decent place which stocks/sells wheels will sort you out in no time. you asked for help, otherwise you wouldnt have posted, i attempted to do so but am very bewildered that you waited on envy to do so, you yourself said you couldnt get hold of them, hence the suggestion. i answered your question regarding using them without spigots, which is a very big no no (unless you're interested in replacing the studs when they shear off), could

jesus christ mate, just go to ANYWHERE that stocks alloy wheels (not hellfrauds, they dont stock em usually, need to try their suppliers) and if they aint got a huge bin full of em, they'll be able to order em in within like, a day, thats how long mine took! i wouldnt put em on without mate because the nuts aint designed to take the weight of the car, just hold the wheel on, the hub takes the weight and spreads it across the whole of the rim. Just go to any random wheel dealer and they'll sort you out. god knows why you were relying on envy when you could have it done in 10 mins!

toyota ones are like hen's teeth!

i have just discovered that you need to be wary of those egay ones mate, apparently the bloke has never actually fitted them to a starlet and as such they dont line up very well.
-
series five, is that the FC? the FC one is the one you want, the FD's dont fit i believe (well, not as easily).
-
well thats bullshit right there, bypassing does NOT bring up the engine management light, the engine management lights comes on with fuel cut, or just before fuel cut, and as bypassing allows you to boost higher, you may well have just found your problem.

nice mate. she's very similar to mine. any reason why you didnt go for uprated rear shocks? i imagine they'll last longer to be honest. also, how much does your mate want for his jam ecu? cheers
