  1. Stop putting ideas into my head about mods Mikey..... badinfluence.com.... I'm trying to convince myself that I'm not going to mod it...but lets see how long that lasts Really looking forward to getting one though. Do you know if the sx has the same rotax engine as the mx?
  2. Now on the hunt for an Aprilia Mx or Sx 125 lads...so if you happen to see any about on your travels...let me know....I know you lot seem to find bargains lol. I'm in Manchester, but have access to a trailer to travel for the right back
  3. You can t go wrong with a dc2 or dc5 turbo. Like marc said dc2 handles much better, but dc5 is a lot more refined.
  4. Cool. Have a gander on there too. Quite a few fd owners on there with a wealth of knowledge. I think its better than the other 2 you listed but that's just my opinion lol
  5. Yeah they seem to be extremely track focussed out of the box.....I've heard a couple of people mention changing the suspension...but the more hardcore honda nuts love it the way it is lol. Are you a member on ek9.org?
  6. The only other civic I would have apart from an ek9...very capable car with the right drivers. Looks awesome mate. You got any plans for her or leaving it stock?
  7. Yeah the drz seems like a tank in comparison to the 250fs and 125s. Do you do all the work on your bike yaself? I 've had a look at the 125 excs, but for the price I may as well get a bigger bike. What is it that makes the 4 strokes so expensive to rebuild mate? I'm guessing something like the drz would be more reliable than a 250f as its not as highly strung?
  8. Thanks for all the info mate. I was doing some research yesterday, and the 39mm card with the mrd exhaust really seems to breath some life into these bikes I think I need to commission you to find me a back after xmas lol. Where did you find them for those sorts of prices? I would be happy with either of those bikes. What is maintenance like on them compared to something like the drz400?
  9. Nuff said mate:) Thats interesting to know. What sort of gains could I expect to get with those mods? Would I need an ecu remap or anything? Last question dude, where can I pick one up within budget. They seem to be in the region of £2000 plus on Ebay, gumtree etc
  10. Ps - These where the Bergs I was looking at. But after what you've said I might just give them a miss. http://www.gumtree.com/p/husaberg-motorbikes/husaberg-fe400/1090251106 http://www.gumtree.com/p/husaberg-motorbikes/husaberg-650-suoermoto-2002/1089926563 Cool...so don't worry too much about having a 5 speed box? No worries, that gives me a rough idea . If need be and anything ever does go bang on the engine, are they easy enough work on? One of reasons I was thinking about 2strokes initially was their simplicity to work on opposed to 4 strokes?
  11. Shit...Maybe I better stay away from the Bergs then. My knowledge is limited when it comes to mechanics, so maybe not the best bike for me to start with it maintenance is soo intense. What year drz could I get with that budget? How much would it cost to buy those mods you mentioned above? Also how do they fare with only having 5 gears? I remember reading an article somewhere, and someone said that was one of the only downsides of the bike. Thanks
  12. Was that Road legal? How the hell did you manage to get it that cheap ? Man, you seem like theeee bike guy lol. What year was the Berg, and why wasn't it reliable? What SM would you recommend to start off on? I have a budget of around £1600. Love the drzs but don't think I would a nice one within my budget. I know what you mean about SM's.....always appealed to me more over a super sports. lol thats insane.....arm pump? What were they initially built for mx or hill climbs? I was watching a vid on youtube a couple of months back, and a veteran rider from the states - can't remembe
  13. LOL. They look like absolute 2 stroke madness !!.
  14. Looks like a really nice bike! How much did it set you back?....pm me if need be. As I said, literally just a weekend road toy. I don't plan on taking it off road or anything.
  15. I'll be doing my CBT next month, then doing my mods, and would ideally like to do the advanced lessons also. I'm just a bit unsure about what bike to get first. My initial plan was to get a DT125 or Aprilia mx 125. But with doing my full license I'm wondering whether I should get a bigger bike...something along the lines of a Husaberg fe400 of 650?? (650 maybe a lil too wild for my first bike lol ??). I don't really know much about the Bergs, but from a quick google search they seem to be quite high maintenance machines? The bike will solely be a weekend warrior, not a commuter, and will
  16. Make one yourself man. Not really that hard to do. Have a search on the forum, especially on Td04 build threads to give you an idea .
  17. What Bussey said ^^^^^^ They were all the craze back in the day....but when peeps started to make the transition into the jap scene, they kinda fell off the radar. Love the look and shape of them though. Hope you manage to pull this one off as a project
  18. RichGlanza pretty much got it spot on. You either love them or hate them. The 9 was by far the best handling car I have ever owned. I had mine imported by an enthusiast directly from JP, so I managed to save quite a bit opposed to going to a UK trader. The b16b takes some getting used to...you really have to keep it on the boil to get the best of out of it, but sooooo rewarding when you do. For most, this can get a bit tiresome and boring, as you don't get anywhere fast unless you drive it like you stole it...which can be an issue if you drive it daily. Get it on and track to exploit thi
  19. Love this man!!! Look stunning.....and mean has hell with that stance. Was is difficult to remove the petrol tank to underseal the car?
  20. Makes me want another ek9 Looks amazing man. I think the regas will look miles better...you can never go wrong with them . Will you be mapping it yaself once the turbo kit is fitted?
  21. Welcome in!! I used to have a slighted modded vrs...remapped coilovers etc. Pretty capable cars in the right hands, and cost peanuts to run . Have you got any pics of yours? The fabia is a lot more well made/refined than the Glanza, but the Glanza will be a hell of a lot more fun to drive.
