  1. I think that's a testimony to how badly starlets handle before putting any suspension on! I'm glad you're ok though bud! I'll have the front passenger wing and door please! (Only joking ) PM the price of the speedlines though minus the grass! I'm close enough to Dumfries to collect too if the price is right!
  2. Nope never been Geo -- Have a nice time though!
  3. Yep I agree! Mine does the same as you're describing when the ABS kicks in. It still brakes fine though when I need it to!
  4. My suggestion could be a worn suspension mount or bush -- when you're braking it shifts forward a little and "clunks". Though I'd imagine this would happen at high speed too... maybe you just can't hear it for road noise?
  5. I see what Geo is saying about the 4AGE -- there was an NA ex-formula 3 engine putting out about 250bhp on ebay not so long ago!
  6. I think you should nab the Apexi filter and the rocker cover! Sell them on here! Such a shame -- that's why I'll never sell my car to local, in case I see it smashed at the side of the road or something!
  7. Like Joz says -- standard shocks could last a few months or a few years, all depends on the quality of the roads you drive I'd say.
  8. Yep -- I did mate just pm'd you back. I'll see what I can do for you tonight before bed!
  9. You're not exactly giving us much to work with but -- here you go:
  10. My mate has the supercharger off a mk1 MR2 with the smaller pulley wheel for higher boost lying in his garage...
  11. Putting a 5EFE or 5EFHE would be different... I'm sure there's maybe only 5 or 10 people in the UK who have done this in a Starlet! Then if you're really wanting power a 5E is a great base as with the extra displacement you can choose a larger variety of turbo's for forced induction, and I'm sure you could get 300bhp easy! (...well not easily, a lot of sweat, tears and money I'm sure) On a side note -- the production MR2 1600cc supercharged engines only put out ~150bhp.
  12. Just a question though -- why do you want to put in a 112bhp 20+ year old engine which you don't know if it's going to be a straight fit when there's other , easier, comparitively powered options available? Just the fact your mate has one lying about?
  13. Nah the 1600cc from the MK1 was defo only 112bhp. And it was the 2.0l from the MK2 that had 150bhp. The 5EFE from the UK paseo is about 90~100bhp if I'm right in saying?? And the 5EHFE from the Cynos runs about 110bhp I'm sure! Also the import Glanza S NA has a 4EFE with a different intake and a different ECU mapped for 100RON which makes 100bhp Also you have to consider the Tax for your car will double if it goes above 1500cc
  14. Wow - it's definately different mate! I really liked the Glanza Copper to be honest but if you've got the luxury of being able to change the colour of your car at the drop of a hat then that's pretty cool too! I'd like to see the finished article for def!
  15. Well it's a 1500cc engine for a start -- thanks to a larger stroke. That's why it still fits on the 4EFE engine mounts. Also what 1600cc MR2 engine are you planing to use? As far as I was aware the only 1600cc MR2 engine was the MK1 NA MR2 which put out 112bhp, the MK2 MR2's had 1998cc NA or Turbo blocks and the new shape MK3 MR2's have 1.8 vvti engines?
  16. What about the 5EFE or 5EFHE? They are a straight swap and use the same engine mounts IIRC.

    will a...

I was told ages ago the 98's ran a less agrressive map on the ECU -- how have you found this out Scutch? (sorry I've been away a while if you've poseted up elsewhere)
  18. I'll have a shot Gaz -- Not been around much lately. Virus, scratched retina... all adds up! Take it we're doin the EP91?
  19. You could net yourself a tidy little earner mate if they aren't costing you too much to get a hold of -- Don't know how much they'd go for though or if it would be worth your hassle arranging postage etc...
  20. Heh, are you just gonna keep them in the glovebox for prosterity mate? Grub screws don't make them any less steal'able is my point -- The only way we got around having them stolen down our way was to have none on at all or have flush-fit valves! Why do little bastard collect valve caps anyway?? We used to collect Pogz and stuff!
  21. You must be pretty lucky to work in a scrappies mate -- people have been looking for these for ages! P.S if you see any more SR speedlines give me a PM
  22. I'm gonna have to get a vid of mine fluttering so you can hear it -- sounds good. And I'm quite confident it won't damage the fins or thrust bearings any more than with a BOV, I'm only running 0.7BAR in HI ...and if it does, all the more reason to upgrade!
  23. Maybe he's looking forward to it! All that sunshine and blue sky could get tiring dont you think?
  24. You could drill them and thread them yourself and put little grub screws in but to be honest all they do is wreck the thread on your valves if someone does try to nick them!
