  1. Went to the Roger Albert Clark rally. 5.30am start after a heavy sunday night. Headed down to Dumfries, however we missed the first stage due to the fact I had to wake my mate up 10 min after he was meant to pick me up
  2. Not a problem. I'm interested in your 6 speed gearbox conversion. Once that's done I'm hoping you'll share the knowledge
  3. Kinda have to disagree. The white wheels set the whole car off mate.
  4. If tein reconned them they would essentially become teins  because they'd be using tein seals etc. [edit] you could try asking your friendly local toyota dealer. [/edit]
  5. The moral of the story is - Get you ass (well car ) an oil temp and pressure gauge.
  6. The BOV is there to stop the air rushing back through the turbo caused by the pressure change when you lift off the accelerator. This stops the turbo from stalling. The BOV vents the pressurised air to atmosphere instead ptshhhh:D The air rushing back through the compressor blades can damage the turbo but makes the cool fluttering noise out the air filter that everyone likes! Turbo cars generally come with a recirculating BOV as standard. Manufacturers do this to reduce the noise (they obviously think it isn't cool  ) and to reduce the loss of un-metered air. (ie air that is being ven
  7. Turbo cars need different oil to N/A cars. Mainly due to the excess heat generated by the turbo. Saying that my bro uses Castrol magnatec 10w/40 in his CA18DET (T28 turbo) although he finds that at high RPM's when going flat out that his oil pressure drops drastically, this is due to the viscosity of the oil at high temps Thanks to Oilman who seems to be on every forum in the UK providing good oil info!
  8. The wastegate is there to protect your turbo (and engine) It's basically a release for excess exhaust gases which will otherwise cause your turbo to constantly boost until it blows up. (Ie if you weld your wastegate shut your turbo would boost until the compressor wheel becomes inefficient or an engine component gives up.) A boost controller stops the actuator "seeing" any boost until your chosen boost pressure is reached, therefore an actuator set to open the wastegate at 9psi will see 0psi until the boost controller reaches the desired level (say 15psi) - Onced reached the actuator spring c
  9. I think it's because my post seemed like a question. They are 5 stud
  10. Excellent mate! Looks great - Haven't been on the comp in a couple days and I come back to see this, makes me so envious! ST205's are 5 stud though are they not? You'll have to get the discs drilled no?
  11. The actuator is connected to the wategate. The reason people uprate them is the old actuator spring can be worn, and when you're upping the boost the old actuator may not be able to hold that boost. The HKS adjustable actuator is as it sounds. You can adjust the arm length (pretty sure it's the length) so the wastegate opens at different boost pressures. You can also get non adjustable actuators that are car specific that increases the pressure at which the wastegate opens.
  12. Got my eyes open still. Not really feasable because of the money I'm having to spend on other things atm. Need a full time job, hopefully get one of the graduate placements I've been applying for... But then it's the question: Glanza with tonnes of tuning mods (which could possibly break quite a lot) - Or go for big (reliable) power from the start, the new money could buy a lot of things, I like the originality that comes with the Glanza though. Point is I'm enjoying being a lazy bum too much to get a real job, the primera gets me from A->B the now.
  13. Hey mate, good cheap NA option would be the st202 3SGE; 180BHP fwd. Not the most tuneable because of the head, but it's a solid block.
  14. 3 points man harsh. We take a mates road angel whenever we go too far from home. Pics!
  15. Use something like putfile. You can host .3gp files on it (guessing you took it on your phone or something?) I'm getting crazy deja vu. Gotta stop my drinking.
  16. There was a guy doing good packages on ebay JDMINXS his name was, but he's dissapeared recently. Had defi gauges. £400 for the link comp, oil pressure, oil temp & boost. He also did the defi versions of the blitz mirror drives for £550 for the same package. Or this guy who was selling the C's shortshifters in the ebay section Flatoutrun Power JDM outlet
  17. I was in a bus  (they're quite big and tall if anyone was wondering) Yeah it was a split second glance. never thought anything of it.
  18. Or I've heard this kind of style rim is going to be in this season. Black rim with polished spokes. Unfortunately it's 5 stud.
  19. Cant beat Volk TE37's. But if you want a cheaper version try these Rota Grid's available from Rarerims.co.uk Bargain at £350 I'd get the bronze rims. They'd go great with a black car
  20. Yeah passed it on the way to raceland for my mates stag do. It was sitting at the back of my mind because I saw a black starlet with a missing headlight, kinda laughed to myself and thought it could've been your bit  Never mentioned it till now because I thought it was jut a coincidence Cool!
  21. Do you still have the black car sitting outside your house G? (2 min outside biggar)? And yeah, I've been in a lot of quick nova's. Seen a few going about lately but there becoming more of a retro collectors item, standard trim with valvers, no big body kits or bean can exhausts
  22. My mate is just as bad at the end of the night Click here to watch Body-Popping-Priceless A little video I took of him one night out on the lash
