  1. http://skimmingtoncastle.com/ Ignore the food reviews, it's written by jumped up win spritzer drinking wankers who expect grass and shit on a plate with fuck all on it...the food is proper pub food, heart attack inducing loveliness
  2. Depending whether you're still in the bed or not....
  3. I'll bring my camera and the lube and the chicken
  4. If that's ok with you guys? I'm happy to drive a little in the trackstar We can go to the Skimmington Castle (1/2 a mile away) nice large carpark and lots of old gits (if they haven't all died)... If you take that bonnet out of the your car Riko, the journey will be better If any 'ladies' want to come, Riko has a bed in the back of his car too...you know, just incase
  5. Mikey mate, you get the tint and we'll talk As I said before, the rear 1/4s are simple to do (especially on the 82 where you can just remove the glass and tint off the car. The rear screen is harder to do as you need to cut it in 2 or 3 sections to match the gay curvature of the glass. If I had a very clean environment to do it in, we'd be laughing...sadly round our house we have 8,000,000 pets (the wife is a vet) so hair gets frickin everywhere...I coughed up a furball last week, I shit you not
  6. I'd say a full free flowing exhaust system would help you, maybe some cams, then adjust the fueling a little. But to improve the car more dramatically, start saving weight
  7. hate to state the obvious but I tinted my own windows...piece of piss...tinted my car, several friends cars (charged 'em though! lol) If you get the tint you want and tell me what you want tinting, I'm sure we could work something out. The rear 1/4s are piss easy to do, the rear screen is slightly more tricky I just removed the bootlid and tinted the fecker in the bath.
  8. Thought I'd post this here Potentially, myself, Mikey jay and Riko are thinking of going for a beer on December the 18th, around 8pm...somewhere between Dorking and BlueWater. Anyone interested?
  9. I live just outside Dorking in Surrey that's where the car lives anyway! 18th then, 8pm....I'll let you guys pick somewhere between us all, unless you want to come to my sleepy village and go to the pub there Can't drive the car for next few days, I removed the filter pipe from the turbo the other night to heat wrap it and promptly broke the fecking thing...so no filter on the turbo at the moment. If it's not pissing down this weekend I'll try and get a few bits done on the car. Last thing is to finish the centre panel in the car with the switches...and wiring up the bastard hazard light switch (arse)
  10. Bloody hell Si, there you go making a big song and dance about not being included and then you say 'don't like you anyway' 18th would suit me bestest. Have to be an evening, after 8pm is fine...where though is the question?
  11. the more the merrier in my opinion...can't exactly say, 'no...you can't turn up to a pub and have a beer when I'm there because the very sight of you offends my being' can I? Shall we pick a date?
  12. Seriously if you guys (Mikey Jay, Riko) fancy meeting up at a pub for a beer one night before or after christmas...let me know we can have our very own uber mini meet....any excuse to drive the trackstar basically!
  13. man she looks like Ozzy Ozbourne in drag...
  14. Cheers again Yup we put the EP on a weigh bridge on sunday evening before I left and it came out to 760kg...Think the jump from the previous estimate of 775kg came from the tubi manifold and removal of PAS I think we should have an army of stripped out racer EP's I brought the cage over, can find you one if you like? drop me a PM.
  15. As hopefully the current build stage is nearing completion...I thought I'd add the little monster. The whole build history can be found here http://www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog Here's where it all started, a fairly stock EP82 that belonged to a good friend of mine for over 6 years, the last 2 of which were spent in a garage lock up. I woke her from her sleep and drove her 230 miles to our home in Surrey...and yes, that's 2 years of dust in the first picture. The spec of the car in the beginning was Blitz SBC Type S, HKS FCD, Blitz filter, HKS SSQV, Blitz decat and Blitz NurSpec R. That was November 06, a lot has happened since then, culminating in the purchase of an ex Drag car from japan to use as an engine donor. The aim of the car was to showcase what you could achieve using parts from Yahoo in Japan and a bit of hard work, to create a very fast track/race car. The current spec reads something like this... Engine: Japan built 1.4ltr 4E-FTE HRF V300 TD05-16G with 18G exhaust housing and wheel HRF V300 downpipe - lagged with Thermal Logic Xtreme wrap HRF V300 tubular manifold - lagged with Thermal Logic Xtreme wrap Blitz wastegate with screamer Greddy VVC boost controller set at 1.4 bar Blitz twin core front mount intercooler - lagged with heat wrap Blitz SUS filter mounted in front bumpoer - lagged with heat wrap SplitFire racing leads Apexi Power FC Apexi N1 racing exhaust system Greddy catch tank with K&N breather OS Giken twin plate clutch OS Giken 9lb flywheel TRD engine mounts TRD oil cap Buddy Club radiator cap PAS and ancillaries removed Air con and ancillaries removed 410cc x 4 Blitz injectors with resistor pack Racing gearbox master cylinder Greddy oil cooler with relocator Blitz fuel pump Suspension and chassis: TRD coilovers front and rear Tanabe front anti-roll bar Cusco front lower brace Cusco front top brace Cusco carbon fibre rear top brace Cusco adjustable panhard rod Brakes, wheels and tyres: Wedsport TC05s 15" with Advan Neova D1 rubber Outlaw 2000 4 pot front calipers Outlaw 275 grooved front discs Endless NA-A pads on front Outlaw braided brake lines front OEM rear discs Sard Type M rear pads Goodridge braided rear lines Cusco master cylinder stopper 5.1 racing fluid Interior: Fully stripped interior Safety 21 7 point rollcage Custom flocked dashboard Battery relocated to boot Single Cobra Carbon Fibre bucket seat Scroth 5 point harness Fire extinguisher Custom centre panel for switches Momo Course steering wheel Gredddy shift knob Sparco rally pedals Blitz turbo timer Greddy EGT gauge Greddy A/F gauge Greddy boost gauge Greddy water temp gauge Apexi EL Rev Gauge Windows sealed up Exterior: Modified front bumper Dolphin Aero carbon bonnet with release pins Dolphin Aero carbon front cannards Ask Sport carbon GT mirrors with custom baseplates Stats: Weight: 760kg fully wet BHP: unknown 1/4 mile: unknown 0-60: unknown Top speed: 135mph (so far)
  16. Cheers again, No idea on the power front...I'm not one for guessing or plucking figures from the air to impress. We'll just have to see when it's mapped. When's the next southern meeting?
  17. Feel free to move it to the right section Well, apart from a mapping session which may happen after christmas now...I've got to lag a few pipes, relocate a few things and that's about it. Hopefully just finishing touches! It's really sorted the drive out with the lack of PAS too, much better now. And getting the weight down to 760kg without even using polycarb or frp doors etc Hopefully get a few driveby videos this thursday, apologies in advance for the shite quality they will be
  18. Cheers Couldn't have done it without Nathan's help though...while he was busy fitting the engine back in I was plumbing in gauges, wrapping parts, swapping fuel pumps etc. Only took about 4 hours to get the engine in and running When you drive the car (will get a sound recording soon), because we fitted a new filter pipe to the Blitz in the front bumper, it now makes the full on rally flutter noise, not as distinctive as before and not as much (boost doesn't start till 3500+)...but it sounds immense. First gear just had zero traction, similar in second, third when boost kicked in was torque steer heaven then 4th and 5th are just a steady build up. Met a white EP82 on the way down the M40 at the services after Leamington Spa, said he was on ToyotaGT (booo) seemed like a nice chap. I had to fill her up with Ultimate (again).
  19. Bout time I posted on the trackstar progress...it's been up at Century Motorsport in Kidderminster for the swap and I spent the weekend with Nathan there getting it finished. Free plug to Nathan, top bloke, good prices and a real enthusiast (he makes his living on Formula Fords, Karts and other cool things). Amazing what you find lying around a workshop... Whack a cam lobe HRF V300 Manifold, wastegate and screamer... TD05-18G looking rather small How's my christmas wrapping? More gifts... Mummified Manifold All together again with a gold cam cover in tribute to the late, great HRF monster EP. A pair of pumps, Blitz on left, OEM on right How about that for weight saving ey? Left a bit, right a bit... Nice and snug back in place A box of junk that was left over, the car now weighs 760kg by the way! By Sunday night at 6pm, the engine was finished and dropped in the trackstar ready for the journey home. A massive thankyou to Nathan for being a top bloke, putting up with me and letting me play Nintendo Wii.
  20. Few points, Firstly I doubt that will become a reality...simple as that, as Ecks pointed out, the market is saturated anyway so if fewer cars came in, it'd only help the residual values of these cars and others. Secondly, as an importer of cars, it doesn't affect me at all as any other importer you just bring your own cars over so there'll always be a supply. Finally, briggers, we have 2 EP82s and an EP91 Glanza. Having driven the 3, I prefer the EP82 have to say....like the look of the Glanza but I feel the handling isn't as good as the 82 (and the 82 in stock trim is pretty poo at corners). Also the 82 feels quicker and sharper, more responsive. Plus the 82 is lighter out of the box. Have to say though, the syncros in the EP91 (might just be in my head) seem tougher and better, the box is far more solid with gear changes, much better feel, very direct and positive change. The 82 (ones I've driven) don't seem quite as sharp...but saying that my 82 has a twin plate clutch so it's a bitch anyway..and our other 82 has a hybrid paddle clutch
  21. I think I imported one of the first EP82s (registration number G90 YBU...sadly no more) in the UK back in 1999. Don't know how I came across it now...but I thought it looked like fun. Brought it over, can still remember everyone looking at it, even importers thought it was a Subaru the drive home was full of torque steer fun. Anyway, I tuned it up using UK parts, reprofiled cams, exhaust, boost etc etc and it ran 210hp when I sold it...great little car. I sold it to get something rwd with more tuning potential, so bought an MR2 Turbo...kept that puppy 6 years and when I sold it, it was running 380hp at the wheels and went like shit off a shovel....with it gone, I needed something hard, track focused and cheap for fun as the 2 bankrupted me...mate was selling his EP82 (that he bought 2 weeks after going for a spin in mine!!) it was sat in a garage for over 2 years. I went to see it, with the intention of doing it up to sell on, but when she started first time and I drove her the 220 miles home, all the memories came back and I couldn't sell her...so I got to work and as some of you will know from my various ramblings, she's now a bit more fun The end.
  22. Me? originally Manchester many many moons ago....currently Londinium with all the other shandy drinking southern poofs. But I've lived in Bradford (Bradistan as the locals affectionally call it) and many other dives over the years
  23. I love Urban Dictionary...almost as much as I love bash.org.
  24. yeah...word is born...and all that. shizzle on the thizzle of a nizzle wizzle twizzle (makes stupid gesture by crossing fingers etc)
  25. You can insure it on the chassis number no problem, just explain what you are doing... As Rick says, it's a headache to do it all, but if funds won't allow get stuck in. You shouldn't encounter any real problems, just make sure you take maritime insurance, battery pack, oil, water etc etc etc when you plan to collect the car. Alternatively, I can sort it out for you if you get stuck Mark
