  1. How much are the Zep fenders? could do with a set of them...Lexan in the future. Front exit exhuast you say? what about noise levels on the track...how would you silence it to any degree...when I swap the engine out I may well do this. by the way, on the loom front, I'm almost there. I've traced a number of wires to the front fuse box and am struggling to get to the source of them (fuse box is a ball ache) So far there have only been 2 wires redundant that go to the ECU plugs, both to the small plug.
  2. ;) Yup, bad case of rsm (rapid sphincter movement) about that thought...or that something fundamental will be faulty. Hoping to actually get it finished off wiring wise tonight, then I can attach up the earths and see if it fires...then I need to tidy the wiring up, wrap it and decide where it's going to go. Still a fair bit to do and I don't seem to have time to do it. I need about 3-4 days of full time to get it sorted.
  3. Bit of an update...still doing the loom! The dash weighs 5kg pretty much spot on, so not much weight to be saved there...I did accidentally drop the dremel on it though, 37 times ;)
  4. Haha....I put it down to middle aged spread. I'm still stripping the loom and wiring out, got both doors done today, got a bit more to do then I can tidy up the wiring that's left...would you believe there's over 1kg in cable alone that's come out of the car already? Mark
  5. Is this just removing the bottle/reservoir, the piping to the pump(front of cam cover left area), removing the belt it drives and the pulley. Then blocking off wherever the pipe goes behind the reservoir area? That it? Mark
  6. Righty, The sound deadening (including the front bulkhead and spare wheel) weighs...... 3.85kg not too bad, it all adds up!
  7. That's the SARD racing one, on Yahoo right now... and this is the Greddy, also on Yahoo right now!
  8. Greddy Type RS mmmm..now that's a badboy bov recircable too. They come up on Yahoo sometimes, not that cheap, those and the SARD racing (not the gay r2d2) are awesome.
  9. Well there is (on my car): rear wiper wiring both door mirrors both door window mechs hi/lo boost button (pointless) aerial heater and bits (about 10 fecking plugs) front fog wiring dome light wiring (forgot about that one!) I'm going to leave the rear wiper wires there and the GT badge though. Eventually when I get the dash sorted out, purely because I can, I'm going to remove the storks from the steering column and have switched for lights/wipers etc...true race car.
  10. I run the earlier Blitz FMIC and there is more lag on the CT9. The piping is the key, £180 is all great if it's decent..if it's shite and the core is crap then it's a waste of money. The reason I chose the early Blitz is that the piping goes from the turbo, bends over a small part of the cam cover but then exits the engine bay completely through the side walls of the wings, when the fogs are removed the pipe gets cold air aswell as the core. And for gods sake...LAG THE PIPING
  11. There is method to my madness...honest....I've traced each wire from the empty plugs to their source and cut them away, most of them go to a splitter at some point, when I reach one of those, I snip the redundant wire away and leave the bridge/connection intact. The only redundant plug I've kept in is the cigarette lighter...purely for running the satnav if we go to europe lol. I'll strip out the door wires aswell but that's about my limit, don't want to get too carried away
  12. A little update, the loom is getting hacked and to be honest (although I won't know till I put everything back and press that starter button) it's not a bad job, quite therapeutic..like a very thin jigsaw.
  13. Hehe, I train at the gym 3 times a week, mostly weight training so don't want to lose weight Saying that though, nothing impressive but I used to be 80kg and 12% fat, bloody weighed myself the other day, 87kg and 17% I blame pie.
  14. Just found the original sale advert for the car Guess what? it's a 1.4 lol MAKES: TOYOTA MODELS: STARLET GT TYPES: EP82 YEAR: 1990 COLOR: Black DISPLACEMENT: 1,400cc(Engine bore up) PETROL MILEAGE: 20,000km OPTIONS: Fully loaded, MODIFICATIONS: Original forged piston, metal head gasket, TRUST TD05-18G turbine, Stainless exhaust manifold, Racing waist gate, APEX Muffler, OS R
  15. Yup, a rollcage is a good idea, but so are harnesses and bucket seats they can all keep you safe I started (got bored) stripping the loom last night, with all the heater, hi/lo turbo, sensors, elec motors etc that are no longer in the car the loom needs to be stripped just to tidy it up and remove all the dangling plugs everywhere. Slight worry is that in snipping some of them off that share connections with other wires that I'll feck up the wiring... Will get a few more pics tonight of it all, nearly half the loom on the passenger side seemed to attach to the heater!
  16. The vids were done a long time ago (as you can see by the cars) Tsuchiya and the other chaps just raced on the express way for real lol I think (don't quote me) I know someone who will do a set of the 6 (copies on blank dvds) for about £15? The originals still knock about on Yahoo from time to time aswell.
  17. Lol, that's none other than Keiichi Tsuchiya in Freeway Speedway, oldschool jap racing movies...they did 6 in total.
  18. Another good idea I have a set of Enkei RP01s on there at the moment, but also have a set of Weds TC05s...whichever is lighter I'll keep on the car for now
  19. Phil the cage, a safety 21 jobbie costs about £300 tops with delivery...so not too bad if you're thinking of one they really do stiffen up the chassis and look cool. The car's already down below 800kg as it is, with the dash and PAS should save a bit more but then the really time consuming and expensive mods start (or in my case don't start as it's not economically viable) My wife's a vet and at her practice they have a rather sexy digital walk on scale for fat dogs (and their owners) so I'm going to have to weigh the sound deadening and other crap on that after hours lol. Now does
  20. I haven't reduced the loom yet, main thing was getting the dash and bar out...but I'll have a look at that I think I think I'll just leave the steering wheel on the floor and sit with it in my lap
  21. A little update fat fighters I need to weigh the sound deadening as the scales we have were broken under the sheer weight of the stuff The dash is off to be cut down to size and the cross beam is getting a touch up before it's refit...
  22. Lol...I am thinking of selling the 7 point to buy a 10 point but not just yet! Mart, I'll try and get a few pics and a how to up tonight (on the dashboard) but it's rather messy in there... as the car is track and I'm not after winning any concourse competitions the finish on the floor isn't perfect. But it's done the job. All you need is a heatgun, scraper and a tin of EvoStick adhesive remover...and a bit of patience although it's not a big/bad job to do. Will also post up the weight too.
  23. by the way..run without a BOV and sound like a real man
  24. That dumpvalve in the second video is the old HKS SQV (not the SSQV)...nasty piece of kit lol.
