  1. That, is the definitive example of turbo stall. For those who don't know, it's when the throttle is lifted, the throttle plate closes on the inlet manifold/throttle body, the air bounces back and usually gets expelled via a dumpvalve...but, if you run a high pressure valve as I do meant for large boost, the air comes back through and hits the fins of the compressor side of the turbo, making that sound. It's NOT a bad thing, does add a small ammount of lag (marginal) but fine. Doesn't do the turbo any harm though. That's one of those big debates that can go on and on. I like it
  2. My team of imigrant children don't get to sit on the seat...always my lap... sorry. Where's ecks these days? don't tell me he's in prison again for bothering the local nursery??
  3. that's more like it That other core above...if you can do a proper bench test (and on the autobahn item) we'll know how it performs. Let the figures show which is better. I'm happy to help setup a test
  4. ja99a hello! I could be tempted to join you in that idea...but we'd need a downpipe making up and tubi manifold? I'm sure it's been done before so someone must know of the sizes or of someone offering a mani/downpipe kit.
  5. Cheers Idrees She's a bit rough...but that's how I like it lol. hoping to get the mot and all that sorted this week before we bugger off to africa!
  6. Ecks.....grandson....sort it out!! I also have a 'stain' on the seat I need to remove.
  7. I always love FMIC installs....especially one like this that looks toss. lol! Firstly, the pipework from the core is 90deg right angled...so airflow is gonna bounce off that. Pipes should all be smooth and flowing for maximum flow and minimum restriction. Secondly, the pipework comes up under the car, straight infront of all the hot bits, one side goes to the inlet manifold, fair enough, but the other arcs over the fecking turbo and exhaust manifold (nice and cool that). What a load of old bollocks, nice and bling maybe, but sometimes you do get what you pay for. Just my opinion like. I could be wrong. My Blitz cooler needed some mods to fit, but the only shit piece of pipework is the pipe from the turbo that goes over the cam cover. The rest is actually diverted through the wings completely. www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog ...some pics there Anna, might give you a better idea Also, if you get a front mount, go the extra distance and lag the pipework within the engine bay..the cooler the charge, the bigger the bang!
  8. Anyone know someone or a way to repair a rip in the side bolster of a bride brix 2 seat?
  9. Is there a company in the Surrey/London area who specialises in trackday/race suspension geometry and setup? I need to get the EP all sorted before I hit the black stuff! Details appreciated
  10. Enzo mate, Mine mya run the stock CT9 but you can see the pipework and how I did it on the blog (few pages down) www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog
  11. As the rears are looking a bit tired, purely for aesthetics I thought when I fit the new discs this weekend I'll spruce up the calipers a little... Bearing in mind the rears only see 15% of the total braking what sort of temps will they get up to? I say this because I have some high temp 650deg paint in the shed I can use I'm doubting it'll get that hot tbh.
  12. anyone wanna buy a stealth shelf with pioneer 6x9s? lol...just realised I have this in the loft taken from the ep
  13. FUCK ME!!! I feel old
  14. Full SARD one...not seen the knackered one...got a link? Please answer my question grandson, how much do these kits go for? or similar ones...over here. See if it's worth it.
  15. Cheers Toby! What's it worth though? and you think the kit on yahoo is shabby? I've been onto the seller and he's saying it's good nick
  16. What do these retail at? and what sort of power are they good for? There's one on Yahoo, complete kit ready to fit and I might buy it for a laugh Bearing in mind my power goal is 250-350hp with minimum lag.
  17. Sounds like fun...I'd need lots of photos for that though
  18. Fogdoggydog, yup, in the city £400 a day is the going rate at the moment for a seasoned AS2 developer. I used to freelance in Manchester a few years back and take home £3.5k a month after tax....not quite that good these days as I'm in a permanent role ah well. It's not so much Flash websites, as most monkeys can do a flash site, it's more games, e-learning and applications. For instance, my current project (that's for delivery on tuesday!! feck) is power point...in flash...with a full rich text editor, search functionality, dynamic multi language support, a fully integrated media library with support for audio, video, animation and images...full back end library that can be modified and navigated by a user (with user and role support) and a print controller to collate presentation for print at 200dpi....all that sat within a c# wrapper That's where the bigger money comes in and that's the sort of thing that's in demand at the moment...or atleast that's what is coming through on the CV's I've got recently. Enzo mate, I'm happy to help out with a flash intro or any flash loveliness no problem at all, but as fog rightly points out, having a flash intro is all nice, but people always skip them as they make no real contribution to a site unless the site is flash and the intro animation builds into the site navigation? plus you then have to warn people they need flash to view it and all that...but if you want something flash, anything really....even a driving game for the site when I have time I'll write one no problem Back on topic, I've always had and will always have a soft spot for the baby toyota with attitude
  19. Well I can honestly say, having worked in multimedia for over 7 years now (starting as a designer, then Director Lingo programmer and now specialising in Flash AS2 Application Development) that the south of England, London etc is the place to be for Flash jobs...contractors at the moment are commanding around 400 quid a day for a good one, so if you're starting out, I'm sure you could get a nice little wad of cash
  20. So most people are daily driver cars...and quite a varying amount of jobs
  21. has what looks like a small dent on his bonnet in his sig My name's Mark...by the way
  22. Is about to send me a cheque
  23. An old topic I bet, but still an interesting one.... I wonder what people do for a living and why they own a starlet, is it a first car, a track car etc? I'll kick it off: I'm a senior Flash Developer by trade, with a side business importing cars and parts for pocket money... I bought the ep after having one 7 years ago and wanting a cheap second/track car again.
  24. A friend and I are doing the Thundercrawl Rally in September, basically driving from dover to Venice (and other places enroute) in a long weekend.....in a car costing £200 or less. We're doing it for charidee, Chase Hospice care in particular, they provide a valuable service of looking after kids (nothing to do with me or my grandson) with a limited lifespan http://www.justgiving.com/thundercrawl If anyone wants to pass the link around please do, currently we have 0.00 donations! (tight bastards down south)
  25. what a simple but so obvious idea Never thought of that! DOH!!!! cheers
