  1. good call Jay, when I said M25 and M40 I actually meant in Austria.... Used to want an M3, very much, then I drove one and it was complete pony.
  2. each to their own I suppose but that just aint good....at all
  3. It's more thirsty than the jag...and even worse than the MR2 was o_0 Still, it's a LOT more fun The look on the M3 driver's face as a 17 year old beat up hatchback went past him was priceless...
  4. Thought I'd share with you the journey in the dragstar at the weekend, I was driving up to a friends to do the engine swap (I simply don't have the time to do it myself right now) and it's the first time I've been on a journey in the car, in daylight...on my own...so I got chance to see what it could do. First point to make, the cars ability to cover vast distances is only eclipsed by its appetite for drinking V-Max. At an average speed of 95mph it went through 40 quid in 154 miles. gulp. Now onto the performance of the beast... As I was joining the motorway (M25) J9 heading north, I had a
  5. Bargain that is See you tomorrow monkeh! (always wanted to say that)
  6. The dragstar is a secret... The trackstar set me back 750 quid
  7. The green lights, like the circular pie gauge on the ep82's....is rubbish. It's just a visual indication really of what the car is doing. The turbo in simple terms is driven/triggered by the ammount of throttle you give it. I can drive the wifes Glanza at 5k revs easily with no boost showing. It'll only come in under certain load/speed conditions. So flooring it in say second gear from low revs (2k) will see the lights come on in quick succession, backing off a little may only show 1 light as less pressure is being produced. I think positive boost comes in from around 2100?? could be out wit
  8. You are absolutely correct Were you in an EP? I usually keep an eye out...I'm using the car at the moment as I'm doing a spot of contracting in Blackwater! Never been 'spotted' before Glad you could see the web address too!
  9. I'm kind of with you on the 'open her up and see what she's got' option...only thing is, I'm hoping 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' lol. We'll see how it pans out, got to rip the engine out starting this weekend, then dump it in the track shell and vice versa...joy!
  10. Also worth mentioning...that compared to the Japs we know shit about tuning. I once imported an MR2 turbo running over 600ps on stock pistons, nobody in this country had managed that but it ran like a demon and soaked up whatever we threw at it. Just because you can't do it Dave, doesn't mean it can't be done....
  11. I see Well with my limited knowledge...I'd say that potentially apart from a bore out, it may have been subjected to a light 'stroking' even with stock crank and rods, the pistons could have a shorter compression height. But what do I know, I only build engines every now and then Truth be told, without opening the engine up, we don't know how it's been built up...as long as it works!
  12. It goes well Dave mate, there are several jap spec EP's bored to 1.4 ltr...so unless they're just saying that for fun, I think it's highly likely that it's true. Who's to say they just bored it out? More than one way to skin a cat, the forgies are oversized though How's that pipework coming on those AutoBahn intercoolers? still 90 deg bends?
  13. bloody hell, this is like MSN. I hope to bring the track EP to BlueWater...with the engine swap done. It all depends on getting the engines swapped over. Will do my breast.
  14. Oh and Enzo, the drag EP is pretty mint my track star is fecking messy but it looks intended...
  15. Yeah the other owner was a right cnut I was going get the wife to bring the Glanza aswell, we could have started our own club. I can't tell you exactly the costs of the drag EP as I'm returning it to stock to sell but the shipping/vat/duty came to 995 all in.
  16. For track use primarily...funny you say they go pop, never had a problem with either before and I've run them both in the past...just not on an EP I'm tempted by the Tein's because they offer more adjustment with the topmounts.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  17. My very own starlet meet...haha. That's the beast in all its street sleeper glory. And yup that's the TD05
  18. I think...not sure...but slowing from 183 with no rear wing (so less downforce on the rear) might cause something like that as the weight shift to the front under braking will only lighten the back more. Could be talking shit though. He needs a rollcage.
  19. Full set of TRD's that are on the car, love them... but the drag starlet has Tein HA's with pillowball top mounts, fully adjustable. The question is, do I swap my front TRD's for the Teins or are the TRD's better (although they don't have fully adjustable topmounts). Anyone?
  20. Why not do something like Kia....pick stupid semi sexual references as names for truly shite cars? Behold my new car.......the Spunk Bubble
  21. My old MR2 was called 'Mister 2' (very droll) but my Jag is called 'the Shagwar' or 'the Shag' for short, the wife's Glanza is called 'the gland' my track EP is called 'the trackstar' and the drag EP (soon to have its heart transplanted into the trackstar) is called 'the dragstar' I also have an Integra Type R sat on the drive that belongs to a friend, that's called 'tippex'....due to it being a big white blob.
  22. Thinking the topmounts on the rear of the project ep are a bit old...so thought I'd swap em and fit adjustables on the front. Question to all the suspension doods is, the donor EP82 has Leda gold fully adjustables on the front...they seem spot on, so do I swap my fronts with them? running the TRD's on the rear or do I (can I) whip off the top mount from the trd and Leda and swap em over so I have the fully adjustable setup?
  23. I think when it's sorted and in the trackstar shell it should be ok...
