  1. It really makes a nice difference to the interior. Its not hard to retrim especially when you get your girlfriend to do them Nah she didn't seem to have much of problem doing it. Cheers guys
  2. Well my car seems to be pretty fu*ked with no compression on cylinders 3 and 4 so a new (used) engine will probably be going in soon, which means I will have a broken engine to forge next year once funds allow. So the cars just sitting doing nothing, again, so I got my girlfriend to retrim my doorcards and armrest in some nice suede material to match the recaros. I also got some new mats from ahem halfords and a new custom made gear gaiter (copied from the original) from here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-STARLET-BLACK...1713.m153.l1262 This is how the interior looks with all that lot on: I'm pretty chuffed with it,it makes the interior much smarter with the retrim and only cost a tenner! Just need the little things like a new engine now.... Will my luck ever turn?!
  3. Use a foot pump you lazy bugger! Looking gorgeous mate, the paints got a nice depth to it. ;)
  4. Just get a smaller sized core and custom piping, mine fits perfectly with no cutting of either the 96 or 98 bumpers.
  5. It took me ages to find out exactly what mine were, best bet is to just search on the yahoo auctions until you find a set of them for sale.
  6. Like this.... ;)
  7. Awesome wheels, great choice! ;)
  8. I'm hoping its just the head gasket, it sounded like an impreza on idle and a ducati when revved. I stopped pretty much straight away and have only idled and revved the engine a little since. There's no other signs of the gasket being blown though, you sure it would be that rick? I'll hopefully get the head off son to check it fo sure. Pos car!
  9. The results are in...finally. Well I'd say their fairly conclusive, on a cold engine, ten second crank I got: Cylinder 1: 159psi Cylinder 2: 161psi Cylinder 3: 004psi Cylinder 4: 001psi (Just) Would a blown head gasket give this bad results? Or are both pistonss shot in 3 and 4? I might try a wet test after lunch but the starters not got much life in it. I love this car!
  10. Jesus I didn't realise this was the reason for the respray, just read through it and can't beleive that happened to you. I'd of been so pissed off, glad to see you'vegot it looking even better than ever now, but still what a shitter of a hurdle to go over on the way. Wish you better luck from now on.;)
  11. I google'd it, it looks poo! Does it even have real cars?
  12. I wouldn't recommend just a cheap gauage off ebay, bill who I just sold my old autometer gauge to noticed a 0.2bar difference between the readings on the gauges, his old one was a cheapo off ebay. ;)
  13. Well the smoke could just be any residue that was one the new mani and decat burning off, most do this when just fitted, however if it doesn't stop fairly soon then I'd start looking for a problem elsewhere. I'd advise getting a boost gauge first before doing anything else, so you know what the boost is running at, then also at the least an hks actuator to give you more control over the boost. The reason it may not feel as quick anymore is probably because you've had a slight boost drop and are maybe getting a little more lag with the free-er flowing exhaust, the hks actuator should help this, it'll definately make it feel quicker anyway.
  14. But you have an S14a?! ;)
  15. Will you still be able to get these turbo's after the gb geo? Whats the new one's being developed?
  16. Yeah I know its gonna be near you. ;)
  17. As I said the S15 is sweet, enjoy the dorifto! I'll have to keep an eye out for the tc v too....
  18. Con's: It will make the car slower, handle worse, tires cost a lot more, and imo it will look like a roller skate plus yes you probably will get rubbing. Enjoy.
  19. How the hell did my car get all the way to cornwall last night on 3 cylnders, and still get me a speeding ticket?! :P
  20. Nice. I take it that its rear drive too?
  21. Have you got a boost gauge, with the free-er flowing mani and decat you may have a bit of a boost drop, or just a leak. What sort of boost control do you have?
  22. I think he might have stopped looking by now since that was over a year and a half ago!
  23. Nope, will just be a single wire that splices into the wire from the original o2 sensor, easiest at the ecu.
  24. Not really it gives a rough indication of the fuelling, I had one in my car, just don't expect to be able to set the car's fuelling up using it.
  25. I doubt the autogauge will be wideband. Also you said it doesnt come with the sensor so it will be narrowband.
